Trampoline Incident As I sat there in the emergency room, my head numb, my hair red, and sweat covering my forehead, not really knowing what was going to happen. That’s probably not what you would have wanted to be feeling on a Friday night in second grade. But, that’s what I was feeling. The moon was out and I heard an owl hoot, and crickets were chirping all around me. My family and I were at a party at my best friend Emily’s house. “I’m going on the trampoline”, I said. Even though in the back of my mind I was thinking, “Don’t do it, don’t do it Anna”. We were bouncing around and I started turning across the trampoline. But, at the same time Emily was jumping across the trampoline towards me! The collision happened so fast I didn’t …show more content…
Emily’s tooth had cut my head. Almost as if she had bit my head. Blood was everywhere and I was just standing there in a daze. Sweat covering my entire face. My other friends were screaming in horror. “AHHH!!!” So many thoughts were running through my head. “Should I help Emily? Should I start crying?”. My head was screaming OW! Red liquid was everywhere; in my hair and on the ground. But Emily’s OW was screaming even louder than mine, and her’s wasn’t in her head. She was scream crying, blood from her mouth gushing everywhere. I only got to see her for a split second before she was driven to the hospital. About an hour later, I was sitting in the waiting room - in ironically the same hospital as Emily - with my mom. Waiting there felt like hours until a nurse finally called us in. As I walked to the room I could hear my heart beating out of my chest. As I lay down in the chair, I still had no idea what was happening. “ Don’t worry sweetie, this will only take a couple minutes”, the nurse assured me. That didn’t make me feel any better though. Especially after she told me to drink this weird liquid and suddenly my head was numb.
Tijanee M became self injurious, without warning she went to her room and placed a blanket over the door jamming the door for entry. Staff immediately attempted to open the door and was unable. Tijanee verbalized continuously she is going to kill herself tonight. The staff was able to gain entry to the Tijanee’s room with the use of the screwdriver. Tijanee was sitting on the floor with a sock tied her neck. Staff was able to provide emotional support and retrieve the sock from Tijanee’s neck. Tijanne began to pick at her recent sores until they were bleeding. Staff used kind gestures and hurdle help to calm Tijanee down. Tijanee was able to exit her room willingly and nursing was called for assessment.
I had just finished facing my fears watching the metallic needle slip so seamlessly under my skin into the veins of my nervous, clammy hand. Hugging my Mom like it could have been the last time I saw her, seeing my dad's face stern and worried. I wheeled down the hall into this operating room, white was all I saw, a bed in the middle for the surgery to go down. As I lay on the bed waiting to be put under I remember seeing the blue masks of the people to be operating on me, I had to put all my trust in them, trusting someone you seen for less than 5 seconds with your life. Absolutely terrifying. The nurse slipping the fluid into my IV as I lay on my back looking up at the white ceiling, this cold sensations rushed over me. Then suddenly, I was out.
I sprint up the stairs to my shabby apartment, taking them two at time. I've had a long day at work and I need to jump into the shower before I meet a client for a dinner date. I fumble for the key with my right hand. When the stubborn door finally opens, I fly into the apartment and kick the door closed behind me. I punch the play button on my answering machine while getting ready to take a shower. The first message is from my client saying he will be a little late. Good. Ten extra minutes. The second message is the chairman of the Person of the Year contest telling me that I had been...
...alone, because I was afraid my life would change radically after this, and I was not prepared yet for them to see this change. After a few minutes, I realized I was so weak I could feel the cold reaching my bones, but that was also the best feeling I’d ever had. I was thinking I had only a few weeks left to start college, which had been my dream since I can remember. My dad had already paid for my tuition, I was so exited I had promised to do my best, but I’d just had my daughter, and I was so nervous about being a young mother in college. I tried to open my eyes to admire my baby’s beautiful face and thought I was so brave, because I had decided to have this little girl. When I saw her I knew I would want her to be better than me, she would be my strength, because nothing would ever make me give up on my dreams, and that was another promise I had made to myself.
It was a wine red roller coaster ride built in a terrific way that it was massive and breathtaking. We were standing in the long line and at last the attendant asked me to sit in the seating section of the coaster and I sat next to my sister. I was asked to put on my yellow seat belt and hold on to the black bar in my lap. A mixture of excitement and fear filled inside my mind. I was slowly taken up to 90-degree angle, suddenly all my happy and thrilling sensations to try all the rides was conquered by the nerve-racking emotion that impaled in my mind as I screamed at the top of my lungs when we were falling straight down from 90-degree angle. I took caught on the bar tightly, but still the feeling that I’m going to fall down was intense. My scream became the loudest uproar that caused my sister feel insecure about me and she was trying to pacify me down, but I couldn’t resist myself from the absolute threatening feeling. After the ride was done, we were asked to get up from the seat and my knees were frail but I managed to stand up and walk out and there was my sister running towards me and asked if I was alright. I still had a dizzy feeling, but I was alive. After the ride, I felt an intense adrenaline rush flow through my
The doctor told me it would not hurt, but it would only sting a little bit. I closed my eyes, anxiously waiting as she brought the bottle of medical glue closer to my head. My head already felt like it had collided with a metal bat. I do not know how only an hour before I went to the emergency room, I sat on the trampoline with my cousin. “So, what do you want to do”, Asked my cousin, “because I am tired of sitting here.”
They immediately came to her aid, and said everything was going to be okay while they injected an IV. She awoke to anesthetics burning her nostrils with the color of white blinding her. She sat up dizzily and looked at her legs covered by the bed sheet. Half of her leg wasn’t visible through the thin sheet. Her stomach dropped when she reached to feel her leg, and nothing was there. A cry pierced the room and Marley laid back on the bed with tears dripping down her cheeks. How could she go on? She wouldn’t be the same after her experience. “You’re a strong girl,’ the nurse commented as if reading my
‘’aaaaaa aaaaa’’ I tried to badly talk and explain that something is going wrong with me, but the words would not come out. I could hardly breath I couldn’t think what should I do, first thing came to my mind to run to mom and let her call an ambulance. I quickly sprinted out of my big bed just like a bat out of a cave. I ripped open and slammed the door as both my mother and my sister screamed ‘’what is the matter’’. I could not reply to them, my mother and sister thought I was maybe chocking so my sister jumped and tried to tap at my back.
During that time, somehow, I had managed to hit my lip on the coffee table. When crashing into the coffee table, it didn’t really hurt with. I had thought I face planted into the floor. So, for a while I just sat there trying to take in what had just happened. Then,I stood up and saw blood on my shirt. My hand automatically went to my face and I placed my hand where the blood was coming from which was my lip. I ran to the mirror to see how badly I had cut my lip. Then, I saw the big gash on my lip. I zoomed to the bathroom where my dad was taking a shower and knocked furiously. He opened the door and saw the wide gash on my lip wide. At this point, I was crying and freaking
We walked back to the waiting room, more scared than ever. All we had to do now was wait for the results, which took longer than anything else. I was really bored, impatient, and tired, it was night time now. When a doctor called my name I was instantly lifted and ready for what I’ve been waiting to hear. My heart was pounding really fast.
I got so terrified, I felt like I was going to fly out of the kart at a million miles an hour. The wind was so intense that everyone's cheeks were waving in the cart. I closed my eyes for a few seconds then I felt that the cart slowed down. I opened my eyes in relief and I saw that I was going up a slope, but at the top of the slope there was a wall. That only meant one thing, “AHHH!” We were going to go back down the slope backwards. As I was going up the slope I was thinking about how it would be like to go backwards really fast! When we made it to the top there were spiders crawling on me. I was crossing my fingers to give me good luck when I was going to fly back. Then the cart blasted backward, it went so fast that it felt like there was a million insects crawling under my skin. My mom teasingly said “are you having fun!” I sarcastically said
I wake up in this room. My mother is to my left crying with her face in the palms of her hands. My dad, he paces the floor with his hands in his pockets. I am scared I can barely remember what has transpired. As my mother stands and looks at me square in the eyes, the nurse comes and says with a grin on her radiant face “Hello, Mr. Howard. How are you feeling?” I attempt to sit up, but my body is aching. My dad hurries over to help, but it was no use the pain was overbearing. I began to weep and apologize. My dad with a stern look on his face says, “Andra, you are fine now just relax”. How could I relax? I am stuck in this room with no memory of what happened.
Before i knew it, the entire couch toppled over on the other side, destroying any furniture i put behind it, while making a very loud noise. It took me a while to catch up with what was happening. I had felt like my life flashed before my
It was dark that night, I was nervous that this dreadful day was going to get worse. Sunday, October 23, 1998 I wanted to start writing this to tell about the weird things i’m starting to see in this new neighborhood. Gradually I keep seeing pots and pans on the sink suddenly move to the floor. I would ask my sister but she is out with my mom and dad getting the Halloween costumes. When they got home I didn’t tell them what I saw because i've seen Halloween movies and I have to have dissimulation otherwise the ghost will come out and get me first. October 24, 1998 I think I got a little nervous yesterday with the whole ghost thing. 12:32pm, Went to eat lunch with the family today and I go to get my coat. I heard the words furious and madness,
“Ah,” I gasped. The knife fell from my hand and clattered on the table. I leaned on the counter and massaged my head. I reached for my medicine but pain exploded in my head again making me drop to the floor. My phone started ringing in my pocket. I fumbled for it with trembling hands.
