Tracy Morgan’s Second Chance Brandon Lee once said,“We tend to take a great deal for granted, because you feel like you’re going to live forever. It is only if you lose a friend, or maybe have a near-death experience, that many events and people in your life suddenly attain real significance”(Lee). Tracy Morgan’s life changed dramatically after a comedy performance in June of 2014. Tracy was in a car accident with his friends after performing at a comedy show. Tracy was born into poverty. His mother gave birth to him when she was only 18 years old. She was not fit to be a mother and did not lead him down the right path (Gay). He never was given the chance to live a life of success. Before he became a famous comedian, Tracy Morgan led an unpropitious lifestyle. He dropped out of high school and sold drugs before working at Wendy’s and becoming a Yankee Stadium vender. His comedy saved his life. It saved him and his family and led him to a better future. Many talks to a family member, sleep or allow themselves to be sad to relieve the pain. When Tracy K. Smith’s (U.S. poet laureate) father passed, she believed that therapy would help heal her heartache. Personally, it is crazy to think that my grandfather was on a famous comedian’s show. Even if the chemistry between the two wasn’t great, that is something I am proud to say my successful grandfather did. I never got to meet Jack Micheline, as he died the year before I was born. Luckily, I am able to learn much about him through oral history, books he wrote, and all of his paintings. Although the two of us never exchanged any words, I am absolutely positive that he was truly “One of a Kind.”

Our imagination turned a mound of dirt into a native village. Janelle Makela is my closest friend and aunt. Since we are only nine months apart, we did lots of crazy things, almost insane, especially when we were younger. Janelle has been a positive influence to me by our adventures when we were younger, our amazing cooking skills, and making anyone smile when anybody is feeling low.
On August 11, 2014, Robin Williams was pronounced dead in his home in Tiburon, California (Itzkoff). The official cause of death was suicide by asphyxia due to hanging. There was a pocket knife found near his body and he had several fresh cuts on his left wrist. The toxicology reports revealed that there was no evidence of illegal drugs in his system and only normal levels of prescription medication (Robin Williams Biography.com). After his death it was revealed that he had suffered from Lewy Body Dementia. Lewy Body Dementia is a degenerative condition in which nerve cells in the brain are blocked by protein clumps. People who suffer from this condition develop memory and language issues and experience vivid hallucinations. Some medication that is used to treat Parkinson’s disease can make the symptoms worse. Robin Williams family believes that Lewy Body Dementia was a key factor in his suicide even though there is no research provided that proves this (Robin Williams Had Lewy Body Dementia). Even though Robin Williams death was a very unfortunate event, the legacy he left behind is still present today.
