Track and cross country are both running sports with many similarities. Both sports are team sports, but can be an individual sport too. There can be harsh weather conditions during these sports seasons. Track and cross country both use spikes (a type of shoe) which help them grip to the ground while running. Practices and workouts are pretty similar. The competitions in track and cross country are called meets and are a lot of fun. Some people wouldn’t expect track and cross country to have a lot of similarities.

Competitive cheer is two minutes and thirty seconds of pure adrenaline rush and craziness. School cheer is all year round and happens once or twice a week and these cheerleaders are known as the "raw raw" cheerleaders. Both competitive cheer and school cheer have many things in common but they also have many things that are different. But, many people think that competitive cheer is more of a sport than school cheer is.

Olympics fans are missing the fastest paced sport in the world. I think NASCAR should be one of the sports in the olympics. The following will help me get my point across: competitiveness, popularity, and that it is fast-paced.

That is more than double the proportion of young white males who hold such beliefs. Black parents also are four times more likely than white parents to believe that their children are destined for careers in professional athletics.

Sports is what has molded us into the people we are today. The world of sports is so unique, and people have different interest and fascinations. From being a child I can remember watching the Red Sox and Celtics with my father and becoming a die hard fan for those teams due to my family being serious fans. Not only did watching those games turn me into a good New England fan but it also gave me some good quality time with my father and brothers.
I believe the question posed by Prebish asking whether sport is a parallel to religion or identical means that sport is very closely related to the same principles. It is an organized institution dealing with faith, discipline, tradition, rituals, and has devout followers, as does the religious institution. When a sport can bring its followers to an experience of the ultimate plateau of complete focus, oneness, devotion, and the quest for salvation, I believe this is identical to religion.

Walking races (also called racewalking) are an athletic competition similar to running races but not completely the same. In walking races, individuals walk at fast speeds, follow specific rules, and travel long distances. A popular Olympic sport, walking races are challenging because they require the participant to keep one foot on the ground at all times and the athletes back toe can't be lifted until the front heel hits the ground. Participants are also required to keep their back leg straight until the person has moved forward and is ready to take another step.
