Classic of the Century
The movie, Toy Story is a 1995 American computer-animated film directed by John Lasseter. It features the voices of two very famous actors, Tom Hanks and Tim Allen. Toy Story was produced by Pixar Animation Studios and was distributed by Buena Vista Distribution. It was written by Joss Whedon, Andrew Stanton, Joel Cohen, and Alec Sokolow, and featured music by Randy Newman. This short film was called, Tin Toy. It was about a little toy named Tinny who adversely allowed a destructive baby to play with him so he wouldn’t cry. “Toy Story was originally intended to be a short 30 minute sequel to the film, Tin Toy. However, the President of Walt Disney Studios, Steve Jobs, suggested it be a full length movie. John Lasseter bravely took the challenge.
Toy Story is about the 'secret life of toys' when people are not around. Two toys, Woody and Buzz Light-year despise each other. But, when the toys are separated from their home, a truce is made between them, hoping to journey back to their owner, Andy before he moves to a different house. “Both Woody and Buzz are now lost. They must find a way to get back to Andy before he moves without them, but they will have to pass through a ruthless toy killer, Sid Phillips.” (John Wiggins).
