Some of his novels were inspired by his belief in the paranormal and supernatural events. Pet Cemetery was about a young boy who was killed and came back to life. Christin was about a car that came to life. The TV Show Haven was about an FBI agent sent to a small town in Maine where the people have troubles which are all supernatural conditions. These few works of King’s were written about the Paranormal or Supernatural Events. Even Stephen himself was a huge influence for many of his most famous bestselling books. The Shining’s main character is an alcoholic like King is. The book Misery was inspired by his state of mind at the time of writing that novel. The Tommyknockers was a metaphor for the drug and alcohol induced life he was leading.

The book Cathedral by Raymond Carver and The Bastard Out of Carolina by Dorothy Allison have many similarities that make them unique because of the individuals living in similar homes with similar problems. Raymond and Dorothy both wrote about individuals either having a tough time or a good time, but soon turning to tragedy. These books speak a lot about the individual and how they overcome the problem that is set before them and how their house either helps them in their problem or not. It also shows which character the male or female is more determined to keep the relationship alive and burning.
The main reason why his writing is similar in the storyline topic is because he is inspired by many people from his family and close friends who have passed away or have gone through huge adversities. Most of his novels carry a glace of hope within it, even when there is much pain, suffering, and tragedy, he always shows a gleam of light to help his readers to get through their tragedies.

King owes his success to his ability to take what he says are “real fears” (The Stephen King Story, 47) and turn them into a horror story. When he says “real fears” they are things we have all thought of such as a monster under the bed or even a child kidnapping and he is making them a reality in his story. King looks at “horror fiction...as a metaphor” (46) for everything that goes wrong in our lives. His mind and writing seems to dwell in the depths of the American people’s fears and nightmares and this is what causes his writing to reach so many people and cause the terror he writes about to be instilled in his reader.
In Haiti, there is a single mother of two named Jocelyn. Every week day, she wakes up at six in the morning to fill two empty buckets with water. Through a rugged path, she carries the full buckets, one in her hand, and the other by head. When Jocelyn returns home she wakes up her children. Then, she grabs one of the buckets and runs them a bath. After the children put on their uniforms, Jocelyn hands them a mango to eat for breakfast. When they’re done eating, she walks the children to school and heads off to work in the produce factory. This narrative may not impress some individuals. However, I believe Jocelyn is the definition of success. She defines success because she is able to provide for her children. Although she is not rich, financially

Jack Kerouac is considered to be one of the greatest writers of all time.
