Toronto: A place for everyone. Toronto is the 5th largest city in north america, a cultural mosaic city. with over100 languages spoken , and about 50 percent of the city's residents were BORN in another country, not Canada. Tronto is filled with friendly, artsy, and eccentric pople, but the highlight of this beautiful city is it's mayor. Robert "rob" ford was elected Toronto's 64th mayor in October 2010. In 2010 while Rob was running in the election for Toronto's 64th mayor had two very favorable election promisses. One was to kill Toronto's 60$ vheicle regrestration tax and the other to slash councollors office budgets. With Robs proposal in mind the coulcil voted, and with a vote 39-6 the vheicle regrestration tax was demolished on the 1st of
January 2011.With regards to the slash of councollers office budgets during the voteing of the councill the office budgets were cut to 30 thousand rathar than a previous budget of 51,300. This had a vote of 40-5. Even though these were both great promises that
Rob Ford was working for the light was shone on the elemination of the vheicle regestrationtax. A majority of people living in toronto dispised this tax more than any other. The vechile regrestration tax was 60$ for cars and 30$ for morotcycles and with the cut of the tax the was a estimate of 64 million dollars loss for the city, but the people of toronto were getting this back in their pckets . In conclusion, yes, Rob Ford has made minor mistakes that have been blown up way out of poporition, but Rob Ford has done so much more than lie and smoke crack. He helped put aproxamately over 70 million dollars back into the citizens of toronto's pockets. There are numerous facts that vouch that Rob Ford makes a wonedrful leader and he does not deserve to be known only as a crack smoker and a lier because in reality there is indeed life behind the crack pipe.
