I began to avoid myself from continuing my habit of procrastinating. I slowly changed my routine of learning to use my time efficiently, be well more organized, and turn my assignments in on the deadline. It took time of learning self-management, but soon it became a habit of setting my priorities first. If I continued to do the same thing, I would have the same results. Therefore, having the feeling of being frustrated and my Inner Critic and Inner Defender is something I did not want to live by because if I demonstrated some of the concepts I have explained in the beginning of my essay into my life it could make a …show more content…
The obstacles I have endured in high school from taking extra classes to graduating on time. Without learning from my mistake, I wouldn’t have the motivation and mindset of pushing myself in my academics. Every now and then, I procrastinate in college and my life outside of school but learn to catch myself of what I am doing. I manage my classes and personal life very easily because being in college is different than high school. I have amount of time in my life to get things done throughout the

...hool and work and life in general. I did not strive to do my best in high school and especially my dual enrollment classes. I was not ever thinking about my future and started not coming to classes. Once I accepted God in my life Junior Summer, all that changed. I realized I was on a negative path and God helped me turn my life around. Senior year is going wonderful so far, my grades are the best they have ever been and I am busy as ever with work, school, church, and volunteer work. I love it this way, I believe staying busy requires me to stay on task and get a lot done, that is the lifestyle I have to take to college. Although that bad patch in high school lowered my grades and performance, making it more difficult to get into college, I am thankful it happened so I could learn from it before heading off to a new chapter in my life, hopefully at Auburn University!
Regretfully, when I entered high school I did not realize how hard I had to work to get what I wanted. I went to my classes, did my work, but never really pushed myself to my full abilities. I thought that as long as I graduated with decent grades I would be able to get into college and really focus then. But as high school quickly came to an end I realized that I was not as well prepared for college, as I would have liked.
Managing your time allows you to prioritize your thoughts, eating habits and reduce your stress. According to timemanagmementnija.com, lifestyle benefits of time management are:
The author often procrastinate because she feels, that when an assignment is given she has so much time, that she can delay her work at a later time; and when she needs to start working, she has no more time since she is also busy with other responsibilities that is more important than the task that she suppose to do. Another reason, the author procrastinate is because she feels she is unable to understand what the assignment is trying to ask her, and she feels that if she delays on starting, she will eventually figure out what the assignment is about rather than asking friends or the person who assigned the task. The last reason is sometimes all her classes are assigning some things at the same time, which means all the deadlines are next to each other which causes her to not have enough time to do all the things she has to do.
I write this clear and concise reflection to identify and evaluate an academic problem that I feel is negatively impacting my studies which is time management; otherwise, I find lot of difficulty to manage my time.
In the workplace, time management is an important factor in everyone’s day-to-day work. If a person’s time is well managed, it is possible to achieve a greater amount in a shorter space of time. How effectively people manage their time has a major influence on aspects of their working lives and their personal lives. Effective time management can have a hugely positive effect on a person, it can lead to a focused and disciplined mentality, giving a higher level of productivity, greater efficiency and an all round positive attitude in life. This benefits the individual, their team, the company they work for and also their friends and family. An example of this is an employee who prioritises their jobs at the start of the day; this gives them a structured day and ensures they have time to complete all of the important jobs. However, if time is poorly managed it can lead to inefficiencies, work overload and added pressure, this could eventually lead on to other issues such as stress.

PMBOK guide defines TM as the “Use of available time and your own productivity along with the appropriate planning and management of the project schedule” highlighting the link between Time Management and productivity and its closely knit relationship to scope and cost areas. Max Wideman presents a wider definition for TM as the “function required to maintain appropriate allocation of time to the overall conduct of the project through the successive stages of its natural life-cycle, by means of the processes of time planning, time estimating, time scheduling, and schedule control.” Ultimately at it’s core however, TM is about time, its planning and control during all stages of the project. A further look into Wideman’s definition of TM by means of identifying its importance throughout the entire project life-cycle (Initiation, planning, execution, controlling and close-out) is required. It is hoped that by analysing how TM tools and techniques can positively and negatively effect the different stages of the Project life cycle a better understanding of productivity, TM and project success will result.
