Thank you for choosing our school to select three artifacts for a time capsule that will be taken to Mars on the next space mission. Each 9th grade student has been selected to pick 3 amazing artifacts and one student will be selected to put their artifacts into the time capsule. The 3 artifacts that will be put into the time capsule will be Money, an IPhone 7 to see how technology has changed, and the all the star wars movies. We chose these three artifacts because they are magnificent items and will be rare later in the world of time. The reason that our time capsule will have money is because later when it is like three hundred years from now the money that they have then could be different from what we have now or the money could be called …show more content…
The reason that the iphone 7 could/would be ancient is because like every year apple comes out with a new iphone. So if I put a iphone 7 into a time capsule it would either be worth a lot of money or it would be completely useless. The last thing that I would put into the time capsule is a RC car. One reason that i would put a rc car into a time capsule is because when it is like three hundred years from now they might not have rc cars. So when someone finds this time capsule they can now have the excitement of being able to drive a rc car. One other reason that I would put a rc car into the time capsule is that they can be compact which makes it a easy toy to take outside and play with or if you need to just go outside and blow off steam you can just go outside and drive the rc car up and down the road. So NASA these are the three things that I would like to put on the time capsule. If you have any problem with the things that I would like to put in the time capsule that is going onto mars then please let me know. But I f there is no problem with what I am wanting to put in the time capsule then please just let me know. Thank you NASA for picking me to put three artifacts to put into a time capsule and put onto
Travelling through time is certainly easy to imagine. You step into the time machine; press a few buttons; and emerge out not just anywhere – but anywhen. However, in reality things aren’t quite as convenient as science fiction would suggest, as you will understand later on.
The Time Machine by H. G. Wells was an intriguing and exciting book about a Time Traveller and his journey’s through time. In this book, the Traveller explained to a group of men who were discussing the nature of time that time was the fourth dimension; just like the three dimensions of space: length, width and height. The Traveller argued that since time was a dimension, then it stood to reason that people should be able to move along the time continuum, into the past or the future. Most of the men do not seem to believe the Traveller or his theory, but agreed that they would like to travel in time, and talked about what they would do if they could. To illustrate his point, the Time Traveller went and got a model of his time machine from his laboratory to demonstrate and later returned to detail the places, things and people he had seen in his travels with his working Time Machine. Throughout the story, the Time Traveller faced setbacks and challenges, but the book outlined how he persevered and pointed to the future mankind faced.
Brief Descriptions of the Original Activity: After completing notes, the students watch the Mars Rover video and do questions related to the movie. We then normally do follow up worksheets with which orbiter has explored particular planets in a chart that includes the names and what was discovered. Then the students create their own rover and write a paragraph about what they would like the rover to explore. This is mostly focused on Mars because the students can then view GoogleMars and see what has been discovered with the pictures that have been released.
...an picking the artifacts. Although I did learn about William Morris and his designs in my history classes I learnt about the concept behind his design decisions and in depth analysis of Morris’s evolution as a designer only when I started working on this exhibit. It is imperative that you do research before arriving on any decision in regard to putting up any exhibit. Furthermore after analyzing the different options, it is imperative that you have facts to back up your decisions of the artifacts chosen. Every artifact that you pick for your case should have direct relation to your concept and it should be consistent among all artifacts. Overall a lot of thought should be put into the exhibit and the concept must reflect the ideas distinctly.
Money has evolved with the times and is a reflection of the progress of man. Early money was a physical commodity, grain, gold or silver. During the vital stage, more symbolic forms of money such as certificates of deposit, bank notes, checks, letters of credit, bonds and other forms of negotiable securities came into prominence. Social development transformed money into a trust, “In God We Trust' it says on the back of the ten-dollar bill.” (The Ascent of Money, 27)
Space, Marc. "Is time travel possible?."NASA's Space Place. N.p., n.d. Web. 2 Mar. 2014. .
The recent events regarding the NASA Mars probes have renewed the debate of reinstalling manned space missions with the objectives of exploring and landing on foreign worlds such as the moon and the red planet Mars, rather than the use of solely robotic craft and machines. It is my belief that we should return to the days of Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin, those of manned lunar landings and manned space exploration. Robots simply cannot and should not be allowed to be the sole means of visiting these worlds, nor should humans only be able to witness new findings second hand through the use of computers and machines. It is human nature to be normally curious of one’s surroundings, and it is important that we send one of our own to new worlds. The effects that past missions have had on the world’s people, as well as our political and cultural climates are another valid reason for flesh instead of metal to lay claim to space. Also, the limitless applications and new education that manned flights can bring to us from on site human interactions could lead to another technological and industrial revolution like the original lunar programs had done for us during the Gemini and Apollo programs.
In this paper I will argue that there is a significant difference in the way time travel to the future is possible as compared to time travel from the past is possible. While there are many similarities especially in the physical act of potential time travel, the logical aspect of time travel can cause a plethora of problems. Both the differences in physical possibility and logical possibility will be compared primarily given a few interpretations established during this class.
There are numerous people in society who lack certain skills that they need for survival.
...from the future has given us the secrets to do so? Is it because the future has not been acted out yet? Or has it been, and we are simply the past, seeing it as the present? Time travel has been a long debated subject. One such debate is, can it even be done? Many models of the big bang suggest that it can, while the theory of relativity says that it cannot be done.
Time Travel has always struck close to the imagination of the minds. From H.G. Wells ' "The Time Machine" to blockbuster films like "Back to the Future" - for years, time travel was the stuff of science fiction and crazy-eyed mad men but as physicists approach the subject of time travel with new advances in scientific theories and equipment, the possibility of time travel has become a more legitimate field for scientific endeavours. This paper will argue the possibility of time travel and the positive effects that this discovery will bring forth to modern day society: technological advancements.
I was browsing Reddit when I stumbled across two photos one of Earth viewed from Saturn and of the rolling hills on Mars, they made me think back on the time when I went camping in my trailer in the Poconos. Like those pictures they made me think about how tiny and fragile and tiny Earth was. The tininess of the Earth reminds me of my fears with coming to Kutztown I was and am afraid I will get lost among the thousand of student just like a star floating in space. I was ten on our trip to the trailer in the woods.
Time capsules are a trendy way of preserving the past for a period of time, in hopes of capturing physical proof of the advances in our society. Therefore, I am not surprised that many educational institutions have embraced the concept of a time capsule. However, this creates a problem: How can singular items be chosen to represent multitudes of ideas, creations, and people? The only logical conclusion to this dilemma is to allow those being represented to choose an example that they feel best represents the majority, which in this case would be the entire class. Therefore, as a fellow classmate, I feel that The Verveís ìBitter Sweet Symphony would be an excellent choice for the time capsule because all aspects of the song have the ability to symbolize our class.
(Transition: Now that we know what the International Space Station is, let us take a closer look at how it was built.)
NASA’s planned missions to Mars, should it come to fruition, will be the furthest distance any human being has ever traversed. While this is an impressive feat in and of itself, it becomes even more so when one takes into acco...
