Tia Maria Torres is my personal hero. To me, the definition of a hero is someone with a reaction to an issue that effects them deeply. Mrs. Torres should be considered a hero because of her courageousness, perseverance and constantly putting others before herself. She is the kind of personal who fits right into this category.
In her early life she left home at just 17 years old. When she left, she had a plethora of animals with her. These animals ranged from cats and dogs, to horses and such. At times she was homeless and/or poor. Her first job wasn't anything special, she was a truck driver. After having that job for a while, she joined the army. Tia Torres mainly focuses on pitbulls, the most misunderstood dog breed in the USA. Statistically, pitbulls are one of the least likely dogs to be adopted of other dog breeds. She does take in more than just pitbulls too. Dogs like labs, spaniels, pugs and retrievers for example.
Tia hires ex-prisoners on parole, also known as a parolee. The reason she hires these people is to give them their 2nd chance. She believes in second chances for everyone and everything. These people that she hires still have the opportunity to make money ad persevere with their life. Many of them end up having a family and not going back to jail. Being in a situation like this, you would most likely take this opening.
Everyone has their opinions about things and this is mine. Opposing claims to mine might be along the lines of "She takes care of dogs and gives people work, how is she a hero?" or "She's a generous dog lady, I don't see it". These both have points addressable for counter arguments and can easily be turned around. For example, she does more than take care of dogs. She gives them a new forever home and makes sure that they are safe, where ever they may be. Yes she does hive people jobs, but it's to make sure they can carry on with their life and have a
