A few characteristics that I find admiring about myself and individuals that I associate myself with is being active because time never waits for no one, second aspiring other to do better, third being confident in yourself because an individual that think positive have a positive outlook and last is disciplined because sometime you have to be humble and work for that moment that will change your life forever. The undesirable characteristics that stop me from talking to individuals are belligerent, big headed, aggressive, impatient, nasty, and patronizing. I knew so many people like this but I had to cut them off because I knew individual with these characteristics do not amount to nothing in life. For example, a few of my high school classmates with these futures are in jell or dead. This made me apprehend that I only have one chance to make everyone I care about contented. The only way to do that is to make more money because like I said at the beginning my family and I was not the richest people on the block. Richness is at the top of my value list, people may say money is not everything and that is true but it will help cause less stress on my family and that is just reality. Then I would have family as my second most important and last
Some values that my family has instilled in me is that, they help me get through a lot of things in I need help or if I am having trouble with some things. In his family they gave him courage and strength because
Values -Everyone has them. Where do those values come from? In literature, one can find the answer to that question by taking a close look at characters and their values. They can be compatible to real life experiences. Look at the two stories, "Abuela Invents the Zero" by Judith Ortiz Cofer, and Little Women by Louisa May Alcott. The main characters in the stories are Constancia from "Abuela Invents the Zero" and the Four March sisters, Meg, Jo, Amy, and Beth from Little Women. These two stories demonstrate how Experiences can shape, and change values.
I have a long list of values that I find very important to me, but there is a few that stand out the most. Those values are family, friendship, hard work, responsibility, respectfulness, independence, equality, and honesty. My personal values are extremely important
The commandments apart of the second table addresses five human values: human life, family, freedom, justice, and property. Many scholars compare the second Decalogue as a bill of rights because of those values it expresses. In order to understand the commandments, you must also understand while gathering some knowledge of the time and culture it was written in. I will discuss the five values based on priority of importance valued by the Israelite people.
What are family values? One hundred years ago I feel this would have been an easier question to answer than it is today. Changing family structures and social norms have created a more fluid form of what we envision as a family. Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary defines a family as both “a group of persons with common ancestry” and as “a group of individuals living under one roof.” As we have discussed in class, a family is not simply nuclear anymore. In the stories we have read we have examined nuclear, single-parent, extended, and community-based families. All of which held the same feeling of importance and love for the people in it. With every family being unique, each holds their own set of beliefs or values which poses the question, what
State how these values were formed, how they influence your character, and how you came to embrace these values. (2 marks)
Considerate, dependable, easy going, opened minded, and flexibility are all traits that describe me. Being considerate and dependable is something that I do throughout my everyday life, with my job, family, friends, and coworkers. In my job, my employer can depend on me to get the job done. My children can depend on me to take care of them and to supply for their every need. Being considerate of others feelings is something that I constantly think about and do. No matter if I am driving or walking I am always looking out for others and watching my actions. It is important to me to make sure that I am considerate of those around me and willing to help people. We are all in this world with the same mission in life and there is no reason why we would have to be rude towards others. Open minded is something that
In a country as culturally and ethnically diverse as the United States of America it may be difficult to believe so many people from so many different backgrounds could share the same basic set of values. Even if one were to ask any number of random Americans, they would receive varying responses on what their values are. Some may not be able to give a definitive answer. Others could continuously list values without stopping. Although it may appear that there is a broad range of values, taking a closer look one will find that these ideas can be condensed into four major categories. These highly important American values are individualism, equality, competition, and advancement.
Some events that might influence a person’s values is a death in their family, not having a mother or father to look up to, being ill, a car accident etc. These events could drastically change the way someone develops values. Values influence someone’s motivation to have a legacy in their life. Every decision that is being made in a person’s life is based on their value. Values come from beliefs. For example, when I think of my values or I am trying to change a value because of a certain reason, I always start with what my beliefs are and go back to my values. In my own opinion, values should be something that pushes and motivate someone to be a better person. Everyone has values and they might not be the best values but if I was a social worker, I would have to get over that and still continue to provide them with service that they need. It doesn’t matter what someone’s values are, as long as they strongly believe and motivate them to be a better
Family is a value that my father taught me. He told me that family is
Values will determine how you live and are affected by the world around us. They direct our daily life and help us to make choices in a situation when you are not sure what to do. They identify who we are and our beliefs and they molded our way of life. Everyone has his or her personal collection of values. Every person’s value differs from one other. These values are made up by way of one’s life experience, religious beliefs, heritage and family history. Values are the representation of a person’s moral guidelines.
During everyone 's lifetime, there is always something we hold closest to our hearts; it maybe our principles we live by, values, and even our own beliefs. Values are those things that are very important to us but never really realize how much we actually value them in our life. Have you ever been asked to define three of your main values and rip them up? I have and I never noticed how much they meant to me. Each and every one of us believes in our own personal values. These values are what gives us strength and strive us to do what makes us happy. These values are very important to us and are standards that we live by whether we realize it or not. Everyone has something we value including me. Some of the values I might think highly of,
The main goal in life is to live by our beliefs and our values. These beliefs and values define who we are as a person and create how we behave towards others (Wright, 1). These beliefs and values can be defined as our personal core values. My personal core values include family, trust, honesty, friendship, and creativity, which define who I am, change from past to present, and could change again.
I have not had too many leaders in my life. I have only had one job for about a year so all the leaders in my life have been either family or teachers. First off the main leaders in my life have been my parents. I know that is what most people say but it is the truth in my situation. I have learned a lot from them about leadership. The main thing I learned from them is to always respect others and believe in yourself. This is key because if I do not respect others then nobody will respect myself. I must treat others how I would like to be treated. Also being myself is important because everyone is different and the uniqueness is what people are attracted to. They always installed this mindset into me ever since I can remember. If I was
