Gratefulness is a virtue that is established through showing appreciation for what you have. I am not a materialistic person so the main three things that I am grateful is life, religion, and structure. I know one day I may not have specific material things and I may lose valuable family and friends. These three things can continue for my whole life and it gives me joy, hope, and peace. I’m grateful for life because everyday I have another chance. I have a fresh start, a new day, a new beginning. No matter the mistakes I make or the things I fail to accomplish, a new day is a new opportunity. Life is a chance to achieve and dream. Life is the begining to all your achievements, your relationships, and all your memories. With a new day I get
to grow older and thrive in my existence. Relationships develop over time and life alone gives me the valuable time to build. George Bernad Shaw said “Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.” Life gives you time to discover who you are and who you want to become. Without life you wouldn’t grow and change. Your stages and experiences help mold you into who you are. I’m grateful for religion. Whether your religion is one that believes in the father and the son or multiple Gods. A religion gives a person peace of mind. It eases your fears of an afterlife and it gives you perspective and a goal to reach. Religion gives you faith even when you see no way out of a situation. It keeps you in moral standards which is in the boundaries of the law. Religion brings joy and love in households, families, churches, communities, etc. Mahatma Gandhi said “When I admire the wonders of a sunset or the beauty of the moon, my soul expands in the worship of the creator.” I’m grateful for structure because it gives our life stability and balance. The government has structure our everyday lives’ and they protected us from anarchy. Thomas Jefferson said “ “The care of human life and happiness, and not their destruction, is the first and only object of good government.” People can have value in their belongings and they can protect what they have earned. Structure provides us with liberty, freedom, and the American Dream. In conclusion life, religion, and structure
Gratitude is a gift that the earth urgently needs. Consistent gratitude is a form of recognition of the gift and the giver. Daily gratitude can help eliminate the need for more and practicing more of only what we need. Gratitude leads to a society of contentment rather than one that's always in need of more. We human individuals have conventions for appreciation; we apply them formally to each other. We say thank you. “We understand that receiving a gift
Many of us might not realize what we take for granted until we all lose it. And once we do we gain new perspective on life. The perspective of doing something now so later you wont wonder what if, and that to be is the most life changing thing a person can
Gratitude is one of the positive emotions shown from research and clinical trials to enhance the general well being of human beings. Gratitude is defined by Emmons (2004) as “a sense of thankfulness and joy in response to receiving a gift, whether the gift be a tangible benefit from a specific other or a moment of peaceful bliss evoked by natural beauty. Emmons and McCullough also see gratitude as an attitude, a habit, a personality trait and a way of handling difficult situations response (Emmons & Stern, 2013).
Are you constantly struggling with life? If so, you might be focusing on the wrong things. Practicing daily gratitude will help you turn your life around. Want what you have and what you want will come to you!
In the first section of his book (What You Have Received as Gift, Give as Gift) really make an impact on my views on living a fulfilled life. Everyone has a purpose and a gift on this life and everyone should know that they are somebody and everyone should know this to fulfill a good life. Everyone should work together and use our strengths to help others. God gave all of us a different and unique talent or gift and we should place that gift on others as God has done to us. When we showcase our gifts and talents, we should be grateful and show humility. We should not gloat our talents, but instead help others in order to gain a better understanding of others and the world around us. As Gula says “Gratitude is the virtue that gladly recognizes everything we have received as gifts to be shared, not possessions to be hoarded. Gratitude remembers, too, that God is the giver of these gifts” (Gula 30). My view on this is that gratitude and humility are one of the core values on living the good life because we can use these talents to gain understanding of our own self and others around us. Like God, we can use our gifts to also gain companionship, which God believes to be in reaching a good
There are many different opinions about the differences between faith and reason. Traditionally viewed differences between reason and faith are that reason is something that requires empirical, factual evidence while faith relies merely on, well, faith. For something to have reason it must have some kind of factual evidence to make it true, or at least very good sound reasoning to believe that whatever it is, is factual. Faith is far from something that attains empirical evidence, faith usually relies on personal accounts which are usually of mystical content. Many philosophers have different opinions about how the two can coexist; some say under no circumstances at all, while others claim they can justify each other, and some claim faith is reason alone. Some philosophers claim that believing in God is an obvious choice by the claim that just because you can’t see it, doesn’t mean it isn’t there like Blaise Pascal. Blasé Pascal and Clifford offer two completely different standpoints on the role of reason and faith.
When people have gratitude it makes ths country a better place. The people of this country could be caring, or helpful, and our country suffers from the selfish people in it. Gratitude makes a person an American, because they show respect to each and every person they meet and will meet in the future. They have the caring ways to help their friends, and family out at anytime. Gratitude is a trait that should be in any American citizen, because it shows the people of this country that it could be a better place if people would start treating others with kindness. The truth is, as I was growing up, I didn’t see much kindness in the world. People were treating others lousy, worthless, and, horrid. If more people had gratitude ther would be less murders, more love, and so much more faith in the world. Today we see people die, and are used to it. We hear about attacks and absolutely do nothing for the people that need it. Obviously, we need to find more of this stuff called
James Baldwin’s works were influenced by the times in which he lived, as an African American writer he strove for equality and used his pen to work for civil rights through elements of his childhood among other aspects.
During thanksgiving I really like to reflect on everything I have and it’s just a great way to remind myself to be more generous and to hold what and who I love dearly and show them that I care about them. Especially during this time of year when everything can be very stressful with the end of the semester and some mid terms, it gives me a chance to think on the less fortunate who don’t even get an education and would love the chance to get what I have. I’m so thankful for my availability to music and the abundance of caring people in my life with so many opportunities for me right at this moment. I realize that a lot of people take everything they have for granted and honestly everyone does this from time to time, I really like to just bluntly tell people that I care about them and that I’m thankful for them to be in my life at this point, even if it's just to remind myself to be more grateful towards them. Just think about what you have and be grateful for the good
Being born here on Earth and having to live fifteen wonderful years ,I am so thankful for all of it. Half of the things in my life were not so good and I was not very grateful for it but other than that everything
To begin with, I am thankful for having a family that I can depend on. My family is extremely important to me because they help me whenever I need assistance. Furthermore, having a family means being able to take less stress as one can rely upon their family to help them. Also, I can count on my family to build up my courage anytime I need encouragement. In addition, my parents celebrate all of my accomplishments. This allows me to try harder in order to make my parents proud. Also, my parents have sacrificed many times for my brother and I which is why I strive to do my best at all times. My family is my greatest strength and one of the reasons I try to do my best at everything I attempt to do.

Do I think this is because of the magical relationship I had over 20 years ago? I can't be sure, but I will always be thankful for that special older woman who made me look at the world through the eyes that I do now.
I am grateful enough for everything that I get. My life would still be the same if I didn't see all of the things that I saw. I would probably be in the mindstate that I was in before thinking that a house and living on minimum wage is easy. This is what life would be like if I didn't see what I
My children are the one thing that I am so very grateful for. That and the chance to be here with them to enjoy what life has to offer us all. I am grateful for the time I have been given to be with them.. Time was given to me and has given me a second chance to learn and be there to see my children become amazing adults. I have been here to see my children grow and watch them graduate and have their ups and downs in life.
