The book, "Three Nights In August", is separated roughly into three equal parts. Each part focuses on a different game in the series. The first section of the book focuses on game one of the three game series. This section also gives a history of Cardinal's manager Tony Larussa. It tells about what he has done in baseball and the sacrifices he had to give up. It tells us about a pre-game activity, which is watching video with Chad Blair, Rick Ankiel, and Dave Duncan. Duncan is the pitching coach for the Cardinals and Larussa. The result of the first game was the Cardinals losing to the Cubs 7 to 4. The Cubs were lead by a strong Mark Prior, Cub's pitcher. They also had homeruns hit by Randall Simon and Aramis Ramirez off Garrett Stephenson,

I agree with both sources because after reading Baseball Saved Us I was blown away with the writing style and the illustration. It is a heart-felt story and leaves readers touched after the insight of what was a serious historical event. The book drove me to do extra research to get an understanding of what life was possibly like for those
Even though “The Kid,” which was one of his nicknames hit over .400, he finished second in the Most Valuable Player voting to Joe DiMaggio, because of his hit streak, and his large number of runs batted in. The final statistic line for Williams was one hundred eighty-five hits, thirty-seven home runs, one hundred twenty runs batted in, and one hundred forty-seven base on balls, while only striking out a total of twenty-seven times. The season will forever be one of the most historical, but what happened in December of 1941, will always out shadow this incredible baseball season.(Tedwilliams)
Rachel Perkins hybrid musical drama One Night the Moon set in the 1930’s Australian outback and Malala Yousafzai’s ‘speech to the UN’ in 2013 were composed to raise awareness and reveal truths of multiple perspectives, representing the voice of the unheard and disempowered in juxtaposition to the dominant and powerful. Both Perkins and Yousafzai challenge societal expectations of their context, advocating for all voices to be heard and for the potential unity between cultures and races through education and shifts in paradigm.
The section in the novel night that painted a dark and angry picture of human nature is when the Jews were fleeing Buna and hundreds of them were packed in a roofless cattle car. The Jews were only provided with a blanket that soon became soaked by the snowfall. They spent days in the bitter cold temperatures and all they ate was snow. For these reasons, many suffered and died. When they stopped in German towns, the people stared at that cattle cars filled with soulless bodies. “They would stop and look at [the Jews] without surprise.” It was a regular occasion for the German people to see suffering Jews and not feel pity. The dark and angry picture of human nature was when a German worker “took a piece of bread out of his bag and threw it
...dly though, as it is really daunting in size and subject matter, but I found myself turning page after page just to find out what ludicrous thing Cobb would do or say next on his path to glory. I would recommend this book the anybody, baseball fan or not as it is a moving, beautiful piece of literature about one of America’s early sports heroes, and it gives great insight into the time period as well.
Three Aspects of Night by Elie Wiesel Night by Elie Wiesel is an autobiographical novel recording Mr. Wiesel’s experiences during the World War II Holocaust. As a 15 year old boy, Elie was torn from his home and placed in a concentration camp. He and his father were separated from his mother and his sisters. It is believed that they were put to death in the fiery pits of Auschwitz. The entire story is one of calm historical significance, while there is a slight separation between the emotional trauma of what is occurring, and the often-detached voice of the author.

Elie Wiesel was born in Sighet, Transylvania (later known as Romania) on September 30, 1928. Elie focused on Jewish religious studies before being relocated to Nazi death camps in WWII. Wiesel survived; he eventually began to write about his experiences in his memoir Night. He became an activist, orator and teacher. He spoke out against persecution and injustice. People should look at what Elie Wiesel and many other Jews went through just to be able to live in this world. The people living now should be appreciative of everything that is given and more.

Today, baseball is known as a game composed of two teams of nine players each who play in an enclosed field. Both teams rotate between the position of offense and defense, where one team is batting and one is on the field. When playing defense, there are positions in both the infield and outfield in order to prevent runs from the offense. In the offensive realm, the batter’s goal is to outsmart the pitcher and move the players around the bases to score a maximum amount of runs. The primary objective of the game is to score more runs than the opposing team by the end of the nine innings. However, the early forms of this sport were played much different.
