Have you ever watched the show “Who Do You Think You Are?” on Sunday nights” If so, then you might remember an episode where it mentioned Cindy Crawford. Cindy had an ancestor by the name of Thomas Trowbridge. Treeline.com said this about Cindy Crawford, “that her family genealogy traces back to a well-known New England family, the Trowbridge. It went on to say, the first of this line to arrive is her ten times great-grandfather Thomas, who settled in the New Haven Colony between 1633-1636.” I don’t know about you, but I became very excited when I found this out. Here is what I found, Thomas Trowbridge arrived in 1636 in Dorchester, Massachusetts. Thomas was the father of William. I was speechless after I read this on Ancestry. Could this be the same Thomas Trowbridge that is related to Cindy Crawford? Cindy Crawford had an ancestor by the of James right? My ancestor, William and his wife Elizabeth had a son named James. After researching William Trowbridge and finding out he was the son of Thomas Trowbridge, I knew I had something the minute I connected the dots. In order to prove my hypothesis, I need to do is locate the book: Trowbridge genealogy: history of the Trowbridge family in America. I think this book will help prove that Cindy Crawford and I are in fact related through our ancestors. I know I can’t do this project all by myself, so I enlist Aunt Donna to help me. My Aunt Donna has recently been in contact with a relative who has actually done a lot of research on the Trowbridge side of the family. I’m hoping she can help me fill in any missing pieces of information about this family.
