Whether people are black or white, rich or poor, do not let others beliefs shut down what potential someone has. Never let the difficulties in life demolish one's future but help us learn and thrive in life. In Finding Forrester, Jamal and The Man in the Window formed an indestructible bond helping each other throughout life. Breaking the bad habits each one had, and helping one another with choosing the best pathway for what is ahead of them. Everyday, everyone frequently brings themselves down from believing what assumptions people make, letting go of our own potentials and opportunities. Not to forget that everyone has to face their doubts to reach the greatest potential within them. In the movie, “Finding Forrester,” Jamal and William

Sucker Punch incorporates the ideals of the mother/whore dichotomy, saving and punishing women, and showcases their beautiful bodies. The main character Babydoll is seen as an innocent young female who is thrown into a psychiatric asylum for troubled girls (run entirely by men) and seen as mentally unstable. Within the first weekend of working on this topic, I knew I was going to need some help. After the first paper, I learned it is always beneficial to talk about concerns and issues with people who know about writing instead of friends or family members. As a result, I scheduled three appointments with the writing center. Each appointment helped a lot, and I believe it helped more this time around than last
Sophie Scholl once said, “Stand up for what you believe in, even if you are standing alone,” (Singleton). There have been many acts of defiance and examples of taking a stand throughout history, that have helped to shape the world today. Taking a stand is taking action to change circumstances and persisting until something changes. Donald Trump is a successful businessman who has accomplished more than most people could ever dream of. He started in the real estate business and has his own university, appeared on a T.V. show, is a billionaire, has many golf resorts, and is the president of the United States. He is criticized for many of his comments and political views. Some of these views are him wanting to build a wall to protect the United States from illegal immigrants and drugs, wanting to replace The Affordable Care Act, and banning people from Muslim countries to keep out terrorists. Although Donald Trump is often viewed as a controversial figure, he benefitted the United States of America by improving and creating jobs, proving that non-establishment politicians can still win the presidency, and by making America safer.
John Howard Griffin’s book “Black Like Me” gives us a look into a black man’s everyday life in 1959-1960’s. Griffin realized that he needed to live as an African American to be able to have the slightest knowledge of how hard their lives actually were. I believe that Griffin can empathize with the black race because even though he was only colored for 6 weeks, he then understood how difficult life was for those men and women. He went through the struggles first hand, he met people and families that he learned from, and he experienced the racism that effects their everyday life.
