In the last million years ago, during the extreme cold of the Pleistocene period, Mammoths were common and roamed throughout Western Europe. II. If all human living today descended from the single couple, Adam and Eve, how do you explain the large differences between the peoples of the earth in such a short period of time? Gregor Mendel showed that he could cross pollinate pea plants (mis their genes) and produce offspring with different characteristics. These pea plants have really short life cycle, for the descends of Adam and Eve to become as varied as humans are today. There would need to be some genetic variation introduced into the process. Also because humans have a longer life cycle than pea plants, it would take a much greater time than 6000 years to produce the changes we see today. If the creation story is correct, then the offspring of Adam and Eve would have had to breed with each other and the next generation likewise.
