“It’s not about how badly you want something. It’s about what you’re capable of.” -Chief Bogo. This quote is taken from Chief Bogo, a character from the movie Zootopia. As obvious as it sounds, this quote represents the theme determination in the movie. Judy Hopps, a bunny, is determined to become the 1st bunny police officer and there are many different things that try to stop her from becoming what she wants. The movie directors, Byron Howard and Rich Moore are both well known for being animated directors. This movie is a animated movie so it matches their reputation. For example, Byron Howard also worked on Bolt and Tangled -both animated movies. This animated movie, Zootopia, is similar to “The Secret Life of Pets” because both have animals as their animated characters, but the themes are different. Zootopia focuses on determination and The Secret Life of Pets focuses more on friendships. My expectation for Zootopia was for it to be funny and …show more content…
entertaining. My expectation was definitely fulfilled because it was just how I thought it was, nothing more, nothing less. People should watch this movie because it has an important theme, determination. A brief recap of Zootopia is there is a bunny named Judy Hopps who wants to become a police officer or ‘cop’ like she calls it. There are many challenges in her life to pursue her dream, yet she overcomes them and becomes the cop she always wanted. Officer Hopps then goes to Zootopia to impact the world as a police officer. At first, she is placed into a position she doesn’t like, but later she moves her way up with effort and strategy. At her new position she is to do many duties and while doing so she meets a fox named Nick Wilde, a very important character. With Nick Wilde’s help, Officer Hopps impacts the world to better. As I stated already Zootopia is a great movie because it has a motivating theme.
One of the characteristics of a movie a person looks for before watching a movie, is the theme. The theme is very important because it basically reflects what the movie will be about. If you simply don’t like the theme by just knowing what it is, then, there is a big probability you won’t like like the movie at all either. The theme in Zootopia is mainly determination because many of its scenes have to with not giving up. The fact that Judy Hopps didn’t give up on her dream to become a police officer and she added a lot of effort towards her job makes it obvious the theme is determination. Having determination as the theme is a helpful way to persuade readers they can achieve their goals if they put effort and never give up just like Judy Hopps. The theme is capable of motivating the readers to continue pursuing their dream. No one knows, maybe the reader will end up being thankful that they watched Zootopia with its motivating
theme.
One theme the story leaves us is that always chase your dreams no matter how hard it is and if you fail just stand up and try again.
There is not just a main theme to this film, but there are many themes
...gs. One of these things is that no matter what happens, there is always a positive outcome available, even if we need to work to find it. Remembering this theme will remind me that no matter how bleak things look, there is always a way for things to get better. It will also encourage me to work harder to discover this way, which will encourage me to work harder even in normal situations.
For the adaptation, one main theme would be: “You can get what you want, but it might cost more than you were willing to pay”. I think this is a good theme to explore because personally I could connect with it. Like most people, I get lazy sometimes, and everyone wants to be successful. What separates those who actually are successful from those who are not, is the work others were
Now, back to Monty Python, in this sketch the scientists are highly flawed research, and produce ridicules amounts of errors yet the result is the takeover of the penguins. In the animal film industry films are produced to make money, these films rely on enticing the most people. To do that they create their own themes, forms, and images to do this, these have at this time become so engrained in the way that people perceive film which does not have these elements would seem wrong. At the end of the day the primary motive of filmmakers are to make money, yet through their themes they reinforce and recreate the values of society, to me it seems as flawed and ridiculous a system to show society's values as much as the science that lead to penguin domination was highly flawed.
George Owell’s Animal Farm and Peter Weirs Truman Show both have similar but different themes. This essay will explain that power of the stronger characters is fuled by the ignorance of the weaker characters. That you can only have happiness or freedom never both, that the idea of utopia is different in both texts.
Throughout his career, Kurt Vonnegut has used writing as a tool to convey penetrating messages and ominous warnings about our society. He skillfully combines vivid imagery with a distinctly satirical and anecdotal style to explore complex issues such as religion and war. Two of his most well known, and most gripping, novels that embody this subtle talent are Cat's Cradle and Slaughterhouse-Five. Both books represent Vonnegut’s genius for manipulating fiction to reveal glaring, disturbing and occasionally redemptive truths about human nature. On the surface, Cat’s Cradle and Slaughterhouse-Five are dramatically different novels, each with its own characters, symbols, and plot. However, a close examination reveals that both contain common themes and ideas. Examining and comparing the two novels and their presentation of different themes provides a unique insight into both the novels and the author – allowing the reader to gain a fuller understanding of Vonnegut’s true meaning.
All of Pixar’s iconic films are inspired from small ideas drawn from aspects of everyday life. One of the most prominent inspirations was channeled into the film Finding Nemo. Andrew Stanton, a high ranking director and producer for Pixar, used his memories of a fish tank in a dentist’s office from his childhood as half of the story in Finding Nemo. Stanton’s sympathy for the fish and being an overprotective father served as the other half of the basic story and together the two memories formed the emotional anchor for the film. Another idea that spawned from a staff member helped create the unforgettable and heartfelt film Toy Story. John Lasseter, the chief creative officer of Pixar, owned many rare and collectible toys, and became nervous whenever his kids wanted to play with them. However, the real message, Lasseter realized, is just because a toy is signed by Tom Hanks, it does not mean that it is sentenced to life on a shelf. Channeling that type of thinking into all of the toys in Toy Story is what makes the film so cherished and more easily relatable. Another popular film is The Incredibles, which is Pixar’s tribute to pop mythology, comic books, and spy movies. The other inspiration for this movie deals with an average, everyday family life: the fear, anxiety, work, and insecurities that happen throughout a day. Combining the two aspects make for a very interesting, action-packed film, while also being very sincere and family-friendly. Pixar films were not all inspired from personal experience and passion. A documentary about the Rainforest Mountains in Venezuela made by Adrian Warren was the inspiration behind the movie Up. Inspiration can come from anywhere, and Pixar proves that anything can be ex...
The novel “Animal Farm” was written by the author name George Orwell. Animal Farm is a novel based upon the lives of a society of animals wanting a better life for themselves living on the Manor Farm. The setting of the book is a farm called “Manor Farm”. The theme of this book is that the animals should make a stand; if they continue doing the same thing they will continue getting the same results. It is better to be free and starving, than to be fed and enslaved.
This can be a rewarding and curative experience, not only for the writer, but for those readers with similar concerns." And according to the article “Why the Theme of a Story Matters” by: Novel writing help” Theme Adds Dimension to a Story, Theme Helps Readers to Understand, Theme Is Curative.
A theme is a fundamental and often universal idea explored in a literary work. In the book, To Kill a Mockingbird, there are three main themes: the side-by-side existence of good and evil, the importance of moral education, and the presence of social inequality. These themes help the story be what it is and help to create a proper setting, plot, conflict, and characters. The themes in the book have good meaning and make the book what it is.
The two books, Animal Farm, and The Pearl, consist of many different things. One book
Zootopia (Byron Howard Rich Moore 2016) is an extremely successful film about a bunny named Judy. Within the film there are many direct and obvious themes, but a more implicit theme that I found while watching was, Our preconceived fears about certain groups as a society are directly reflected in Zootopia. I will be using the formal elements: camera angle, camera distance, and sound to argue my point. In the scene I will be analyzing, Judy just finished her press conference and claimed that all predators were savages. She gets off the podium and has an encounter with her friend, Nick, who is a predator. He is mad that Judy made this general statement about predators. Nick scares Judy and acts as though he has
Animal Farm, A novella by George Orwell, tells the tale of the downtrodden animals of Manor Farm, who after much oppression from their master, take over the farm for themselves. In the beginning it seems like the start of a life of freedom and plenty, but ruthless and cunning elite emerges and begins to take control of the farm. The animals find themselves ensnared once again as one form of tyranny gradually replaces the other. The novella is a critique of revolutionary Russia and idealism betrayed by power and corruption. Orwell uses allegory between Animal Farm and the Soviet Union to highlight the corruption of socialist ideals in the soviet union, the power of language and propaganda, and the dangers of a naive working class.
For an abundance of authors, the driving force that aids them in creation of a novel is the theme or number of themes implemented throughout the novel. Often times the author doesn’t consciously identify the theme they’re trying to present. Usually a theme is a concept, principle or belief that is significant to an author. Not only does the theme create the backbone of the story, but it also guides the author by controlling the events that happen in a story, what emotions are dispersed, what are the actions of characters, and what emotions are presented within each environment to engage the readers in many
