The most important theme in the The Watsons Go to Birmingham is Family is the most important thing you need in life. In the book The Watsons Go to Birmingham, Kenny had a moment where he thought Joetta died but he still went in to see if Joey was there. (184-185) Kenny thought Joey was dead but he didn’t care and he went to find Joey. When he got into the church he saw a girl with shoes that look like Joey but he went to get the shoe any way.That shows how much Kenny cares for his little sister. Kenny was really hoping Joetta was okay. Another part in the book was when Dad stopped in the mountains and Joey got scared. “ Daddy, look how scary it is here!” Joey said, pointing at all the giant shapes in the darkness. “Nonsense, Punkin, those
are just the mountains.” (145) When Joey was scared about the mountains, Daniel was there to comfort her and tell that everything is okay. Daniel cares a lot about his family and doesn’t want anything to happen to them no matter the cost.A great example of a family helping each other was when Byron got his lips stuck to the Brown Bomber, the car and Kenny went in for help. He didn’t do anything to Byron he went straight into the house “I nearly broke my neck trying to get into the house to rescue Byron” ( ).Even though if Kenny was stuck to the mirror Byron would have tormented he, Kenny is not like that. Kenny cares about his brother and wouldn’t want to see this brother hurt. In the book, The Watsons Go to Birmingham -1963, two brothers named Byron and Kenny belong to the Watsons family. Byron, the older brother, is a troublemaker and tends to pick on his younger siblings. Kenny, the narrator. There boys are growing up in Flint, Michigan. Kenny and Byron have many similarities and differences.

In conclusion, there are various themes in the book. The theme of education is evident from the beginning to the end of the novel. Atticus Finch stresses the need for education to his children and also to the people of Maycomb during the trial of Tom Robinson. The theme of courage is also an important part of this novel. The children learn from Atticus and Mrs. Dubose that courage and strength are not necessarily physical, but actually they are present in the hearts and minds of people. The theme of prejudice is present throughout the novel in the first part against Boo Radley and in the second part in the form of racism against Tom Robinson. The understanding of prejudice helps the children change from childhood innocence to a point of maturity and acceptance of people who are different from them.

The story takes place during the 1950s in an Oregon psychiatric hospital and is narrated by a patient on the ward named Chief Bromden. When the novel’s protagonist, Randle P. McMurphy enters the confines of a mental institution from a prison farm, the rules inflicted by the Big Nurse begin to change. Chaos and disruption commence throughout the standard and regular flow of the hospital life, altering the well-established routines due to the threat that McMurphy opposes on the ward. Obviously, it becomes evident that Kesey will convey many viewpoints throughout the course of the story, however, I strongly believe that a recurring theme can be singled out. Another theme shown is heroism, including an unlikely character. Education is a core theme in the book as Atticus clearly implies to his children. Jane searches throughout the book for love and acceptance, and is forced to endure many hardships before finding them. First, she must cope with the betrayal of the people who are supposed to be her family - her aunt, Mrs. Reed, and her children, Eliza, Georgiana, and John. Then there is the issue of Jane's time at Lowood School, and how Jane goes out on her own after her best friend leaves. She takes a position at Thornfield Hall as a tutor, and makes some new friendships and even a romance. Yet her newfound happiness is taken away from her and she once again must start over. Then finally, after enduring so much, during the course of the book, Jane finally finds a true family and love, in rather unexpected places.
Jane next lived at Lowood. This institution was anything but a true family unit. However, Jane sought out people to care for and who would care for her in return. Helen Burns and Miss Temple became very close to Jane. In ways like the mother of the typical family served as a moral guide and a nurturer, so too did Helen Burns, and to a certain extent Miss Temple.
