Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck is a novella that says a lot about human nature and what drives mankind. Through the use of personal relationships and dreams, Steinbeck shows the readers that the hope for something more motivates everyone to keep moving forward. Both of these themes are brought to life by the characters Lennie and George. Lennie is a rather big man with not much mental capacity and relies on George for a variety of basic human needs. In this story, Steinbeck has a lot to imply about the role dreams play in people's lives. Lennie has the end goal of owning a ranch with George and being able to tend to the rabbits. When Lennie kills Curley’s wife, he knew he had done something wrong and that he may have lost the opportunity
