In these two works, both authors demonstrate forbidden love. In Huckleberry Finn, Miss Sophia and Harney Shephardson are from two different families who are enemies. They successfully run away together and when the two families find out immediately the feud becomes war. The families are furious and want to stop them. In Romeo and Juliet, the families do not find out about Romeo and Juliet’s marriage while they are alive. The families find that the two were married after their death, and then they become friends. Their death brought the two families together. The similarities in these two works are that they both had feuding families, no one knows the exact details about how and when the feud started and the boy and the girl secretly plan to
run away together and lastly the members of the families fight each other continuously. Jim is also forbidden from freedom because of his race. Slavery sets social chains on Jim's life and obstructs his happiness and his goals in life. The only way Jim can achieve his happiness is through freedom. Freedom for Jim means escape from slavery and a release from the social chains. For example: "Jim said it made him all over trembly and feverish to be so close to freedom" (Twain 97). Huck continues describing and says "Jim was fidgeting up and down past me. We neither of us could keep still. Every time he danced around and says, "Dah's Cairo!"" (Twain 97) Jim was forbidden from freedom and freedom for Jim meant happiness and he was going to do whatever he could to get it. Twain and Shakespeare are criticizing the fact that humanity labels things forbidden for certain people because of their family name or their race. The forbidden love that Miss Sophia, Harney, Romeo and Juliet had to face was only because of the feud that was going on between their families. Jim did not have freedom because of his race and who he is. Labeling others is what society tends to do. For example one person will say to another person that they can’t do a certain thing because of their sexe, or one will hear someone say something wrong about another person and then everyone of that different race or culture will label them because they are different and then forbid them into fitting in society. To conclude, everything that was forbidden in these works caused conflict. Miss Sophia, Harney, Romeo and Juliet and even Jim suffered because of the forbidden things their families or society didn't accept.
In The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, Mark Twain paints the story of a developing friendship between two entirely different people which at the time society considered unacceptable and taboo. Huckleberry Finn is a white thirteen year old boy and Jim is a middle-aged black runaway slave. They meet by coincidence while they are both hiding out on Jackson’s Island located in the middle of the Mississippi River, Huck is hiding from the townspeople who think he is dead, and Jim has runaway and is hiding from his owner. Throughout their journey together, Huck and Jim’s relationship goes from them being mere acquaintances, then to friends, then to them having a father and son relationship.

Romeo and Juliet is a play about two young lovers, whose love was destined for destruction from the beginning because of hatred. between the two families, Montagues and Capulets. Therefore, Themes of love and hate are very important in the play as the plot is driven by these two themes. The play opens with the chorus, it is a sonnet and has a rhyme scheme
Huck Finn, a narcissistic and unreliable young boy, slowly morphs into a courteous figure of respect and selflessness. After Pap abducts the young and civilized Huck, Huck descends into his old habits of lies and half-truths. However, upon helping a runaway slave escape, Huck regains morality and a sense of purpose. Throughout The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain, Huck lies to characters, casting the authenticity of the story into doubt but illustrating Huck’s gradual rejection of lying for himself and a shift towards lying for others.
In Romeo and Juliet, the tragic love story, emotion is also surrounded with both the protagonists and brought themselves a tragic ending. Early in the story, Romeo and Juliet made an unacceptable forbidden decision which created a path towards their graves. After knowing themselves as the enemy of their household, the two teenagers yet fall in love with each other. Their idiotic actions of love have brought themselves a road to death at the end. Is unworthy to cost your life by your foolish decision. Furthermore, Romeo made another decision out of momentary anger and caused himself a disastrous problem. After Mercutio's death, out of anger Romeo duel with Tybalt and demands to slay him. After his revenge, he brought a death sentence on himself if he is ever found within the city again.
Capulet and Romeo Montague, face a bigger problem; forbidden love. Taking place in Verona, an ignorant Romeo first meets a childish Juliet at the Capulet’s party. Romeo and his kinsman, Benvolio, attend the party masked, searching for his first love, Rosaline. Coincidentally, Romeo meets Juliet, a new beauty, and falls in love with her not knowing the fact that she is a Capulet. The feud continues, leading one mistake after another, until both families realize their selfishness at the last minute. The unfortunate tragedy of two “star-crossed lovers” is ironically caused by the impetuosity of Romeo and Juliet themselves (Shakespeare 7).
There is a lot of love portrayed in the play; the first shown is lust.

There are three main types of love shown in William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet such as Romantic love, Unrequited love and the love Juliet and her nurse share.
Romeo and Juliet is a romantic love story about a young lad named Romeo who has fallen in love with Lady Juliet, but is unable to marry her because of a long-lasting family feud. The play ends in the death of both these characters and the reunion of the friendship between the families. Romeo is in love with Juliet, and this is a true, passionate love (unlike the love Paris has for her or the love Romeo had for Rosaline) that nothing can overcome, not even the hatred between their two families that is the reason for the death of their two children. Throughout the play, Shakespeare thoroughly explores the themes of both true love and false love and hatred. Without either of these themes, the play would loose its romantic touch and probably would not be as famous as it is today.
the play is not solely about love but also a lot of hatred is involved
