Poison can seldomly be detected when mixed in a drink , but the effects after it is drank can be clearly seen. The poison of corruption has already been in Tom’s water for years, which makes makes Tom toxic to the people around him. Tom’s disloyalty corrupts Myrtle, his misogynistic views and wealth corrupts Daisy, and his power of manipulation corrupts George. Myrtle, Daisy, and George do not realize the devastation that Tom will bring in the beginning, it is not till his devastation or the poison kicks in, do they see the truth. Though Myrtle was unhappy in her marriage, she did not acquire a side lover. When Tom comes into the picture all that changes. Tom’s lack of feeling about his disloyal to Daisy, poisons Myrtle and causes her to take the same belief. Myrtle no longer cares that cheating is corrupt and gladly “visits her sister” weekly with no guilt. Tom’s disloyalty extends past Daisy and on to Myrtle as well. Tom lacks intention of leaving Daisy, and lies to Myrtle about the reason. Myrtle thinks that Tom lacks romantic feelings towards Daisy, like Myrtle lacks for George, But Tom will “always come back [to Daisy] and in [his] heart [he] loves her all the time.” …show more content…

Daisy fell in love with Gatsby when she was young, and though she promised to wait for Gatsby, she soon marries Tom. Daisy is a smart person but tries to become “a beautiful little fool.” like she wishes Pammy to be. When Daisy and Gatsby meet again, Gatsby is loaded.
