wants a divorce. As a result, of this misconception, Mary decided to act on her instincts and surprisingly kills her husband. This had a negative impact on Patrick of course but also on Mary because she has to deal with her decisions for the rest of her life. Similar to Patrick, Mary is another character who isn’t like she seems to be. For example, when her character is introduced, she appears to be a clueless housewife that depends on her husband for everything but, later is proved to be an intelligent woman when covering up her husband's murder. Mary’s keener side is visible when she works to cover up killing her husband and uses the information she picked up on from being a detectives wife. Her previous persona also helped her conceal her association with the crime since the detectives presumed that she was innocent and didn’t bother to consider her as a suspect. The first character is the landlady. For example, she seemed to be a nice old lady, who runs a comfy bed and breakfast but, actually has a darker side. This can be shown by hints throughout the whole story like when she said “ I stuff all my little pets when they pass away. ” This undeniably has a big impact on those who fall a victim to her trap since she poisons them then later stuffs them. This affects not only her victims but also herself considering she probably finds delight in having them with her. Another character who isn’t who they seem to be is Billy Weaver, the main character. For instance, he is shown to be a smart businessman but is later discovered to be too naive and jumps into situations without thinking. As a result of his unsuspecting or trusting behavior, he failed to recognize that something was evidently wrong with the landlady. This later lead him to his death as she poisoned him like the others. To conclude, in the landlady characters such as, the landlady and billy weaver weren’t who they seem to be, that affected themselves and
others. In the novel “ Cinder “ there are characters who aren’t who they seem to be, that affected themselves and others. One is the main character, Lihn Cinder. In the story, she appears to be an unwanted cyborg with no purpose but, is later found out to be a vital part in saving the world. Throughout the story people underestimated her and so did she herself. This misinterpretation of who cinder was, disguised her from the bad people and also helped her in many other ways. Dr. Erland is another character who is n’t who he seemed to be. For instance, he was portrayed to be a regular doctor but is later found out to be way different and helps cinder through her internal fight and saving the world.
