Monday, May 1, 2017 at 12:06 I was dispatched to a theft call at 1812 Guise St. (ADU behind the house). This is the same residence we had a prior DV arrest. I arrived on scene and spoke to the owner of the house Stephen Grimes, who was there getting ready to have the house fixed up and put up for sale. He advised me that the RP was not here yet. He said that the occupants had already vacated the ADU that previous evening and he did not have a forwarding address for them. He said the female occupant had left some of her children’s property there. I advised him to just collect it up and store it in the small open shed next to the house so she has a chance to collect it if she chooses, but that if she does not come for it, he can dispose of …show more content…

Shayla texted my phone back shortly after that. She said the items were given to her by her by her boyfriend Michael. And that the large screen TV was purchased by her and she can prove it as she has the receipt. She purchased it from a friend who is a secretary at Safe Harbor. She said she had no problem giving the items back, that she was forced by the owner to take the things out of the apartment as he was getting ready to remodel it. She said she did not have a choice but to take it, or it would have sat in the rain. She also said that the items were not new, and were about as ratty as they come. Shayla said that she has a text message saying she could have the stuff that she took out of the apartment. I asked if she could screen shot it to me, she said she can’t get the message because Michael broke her phone the night he was arrested, and she had to get a new one. She went on to say that that she would give all the stuff back even though it means she will sleep on the floor with the children. She said the family has made her life miserable. She said she will leave the stuff at the curb in front of her place at 201 Pine Drive, Cape George at 06:00 in the morning. I advised that was not a good idea and she said she did not care, and that it might even be taken by the garbage truck. I advised her that would get her in trouble too though.
