Xbox Most people one way or another have heard of the console called Xbox. Xbox was a gaming console created by Microsoft in November 15 2001. In 1998 the people at Microsoft were thinking about developing their own gaming console. It originally was going to be called the DirectX Box, but this was changed to Xbox later. It was going to be the first console to be built with the power of a PC but in the flexibility of a console. 2 years later at a game developers conference Bill Gates ( the founder of Microsoft ) announced they would go public with their console. Xbox is still around today making consoles. Microsoft's first console was the original Xbox. On the consoles first birthday they released Xbox live, this allows you to play online with other people. 4 years later Microsoft released their new console called the Xbox 360. “This resulted in sellouts in every market except Japan. By the end of the year more than 1.5 million consoles were shipped” ( Digital Trends, The History Of Xbox) Next was the Xbox one, this was released November 22 2013. After that on August 2 2016 they released the Xbox One S. This is the Xbox One but just smaller and more powerful. After that on November 7 2017 they released …show more content…
The original Xbox costed $299 but was later cut down too $199. The Xbox was discontinued in North America in 2009. In the end over 24 million units were sold. The Xbox 360 started out costing $399 then it dropped down too $299. The xbox 360 sold over 84 million units. “Few in the company expected the xbox 360 to become the most successful western made console in history” (Game Spot, How The Xbox 360 Denominated A Decade) The Xbox One started out at a steep price of $499 but was taken down too $399. The last count we have for the xbox one was in 2014 and it was a total of 10 million units, but most people estimate around 19 million. This console has not been discontinued so it is still in
The Xbox One is considerably bulkier than the PlayStation 4, coming in at 13.5 inches wide, 10.4 inches front to back, and 3.2 inches tall and weighing 3.5 kg, making the Xbox One approximately 30% larger than the PlayStation 4. The Xbox One console comes in black, but different themes and colors are available. The left half of the
The following paper analyzes the initial release of Microsoft's XBOX 360 gaming system release into the United States and the changes that occurred with the supply, demand and pricing of the product in the months following its release. The social science of economics tells us that supply, demand and price are closely related to one another and have a significant on how much of a particular good is purchased and the rate at which it is purchased by consumers. The XBOX 360 phenomenon is a solid example of the impact that changes in supply, demand and price have on the marketplace and the rate at which goods are purchased.
The PS2 offers a reasonably powerful processor, about 297MHz (Megahertz). It may seem a little bit on the sluggish side compared to the processor of Xbox, about 733MHz, and to the GameCube processor, about 485MHz. If you ask me, I think that 733MHz is a little much for a gaming console, it’s just plain ridiculous. The PS2 has enough power to run high quality games. And with the planned decrease in cost for the PS2, you should be able to get one for lower than the normal price, $299, sometime in the near future. Microsoft cannot decrease their price for Xbox, $299, because they are already losing money selling systems, about $50 a system sold. So that tells you that the PS2 could match the price of GameCube, $199, before long.

...lah S.). The PlayStation 4 released November 15 of 2013 and had preorders larger than launch sales of Sony’s PlayStation 3 at one million orders. The people have waited almost 7 years for a brand new gaming console. That 7 year wait has tremendously increased the demand for the new console.
Another feature that is a first in the console industry is Xbox’s internal 8-Gigabyte (Gb) Hard-Drive or Hard Disk Drive (Hdd). This contributes too much of Xbox’s weight, but gives many features. With this you don’t have a need for a memory card to save your game files, you save them right to the hard-drive. This is a very nice feature on the Xbox, because it saves you money.
Microsoft made a wise decision by choosing to outsource the manufacturing of Xbox to Flextronics. They are not as competent in making the components for Xbox as they are in constructing software. Flextronics, on the other hand, is a large enough company with ample funds and experience in the manufacturing of hardware, like Xbox. They have the expertise and logistics to produce efficiently and cost effectively, while maintaining the level of quality that Microsoft demands as a well-known brand.
Video games, specifically home consoles, came to the US on October 18th 1985. The NES. Most games around that time were all bright and cheerful looking games such as Mario, Kirby, Legend Of Zelda, and Pokemon a few years later on the Gameboy. But as other game developers appeared, new types of games were made. The shooter genre and fighting genre of games came mostly on the Xbox and PS systems with a couple exceptions being on a Nintendo console(Doom, Goldeneye, Smash bros). Now shooter games

TOPOGRAPHY: The Gambia is a long narrow country focusing around the central river that gave them their name. The Gambia river is 300 miles long inside The Gambia and is about 3 miles wide at most points. The Gambia has a total land area of 4,000 miles. It is relatively flat with few mountains and has an inward sloping bowl shape from where the Gambia river once covered. The Gambia river opens into the ocean at the western most tip of The Gambia. The capital, Banjul, is located near the inlet to the river and is a very large city with many tourist attractions and shops to buy stuff in. The Gambia is located completely within the county of Senegal from which it won it’s independence. The river is navigable up to 241km inland. After that point is impossible to further follow the river without the aid of a specialized boat for such a trip.

Microsoft’s mission of placing a “PC running Microsoft software on every desk and in every home” drove their overall strategy early on. Depending on the business segment within Microsoft, one would see in place very different business models as the strategy for each line of business could vary. In the operating system (OS) segment, Microsoft initially brought in an existing product and modified this (MS-DOS) to work with the Intel microprocessor, which were the “brains” of the IBM PC. Microsoft partnered with IBM to provide the operating system for the IBM PC. In addition to developing Windows, Microsoft during this period was working to write applications for the Apple OS.
