Recommended: The benefits of economic globalization
Globalization is a concept with a variety of meanings making it quite confusing. The concept includes a wide variety of events as well as aspects of personal and social life. However, some scholars have attempted to offer some definitions of this concept: It has been defined as the increasing unification in the economic order of the world via the reduction of barriers to free international trade like tariffs, import quotas, and export fees. Globalization describes the process in which regional economies, cultures, and societies have become integrated via transportation, communication, and trade (Croucher 10). It is closely associated with economic globalization, which is “the process by which markets and production in different countries are becoming increasingly interdependent due to the dynamics of trade in goods and services and flows of capital and technology” (Held 92). However, it is not only driven by economic factors, but also a combination of the economic factors with the technological, biological, political, and socio-cultural factors (Croucher 10).
Globalization has also been defined as a positive factor in the disintegration of various national boundaries in the favor of a shared culture and global economy, as well as worldwide political integration. It appears to be an unstoppable progression, and its likely consequences and impacts are the same across many nations. There are benefits to the less developed countries and cultures such as the chances of improving their economic conditions, sharing in the new global economy, as well as improving their citizenry political freedoms. Surprisingly, Thomas Friedman in his essay “Revolution is US” states that “for some people Americanizan-globalization feels more than ever...

In my previous sections, I defined what a nation is, dictated what constitutes a good nation, and differentiated between ethnic and civic nationalism. In this section, I will advocate for the existence of civic nationalism in liberal society by demonstrating its merits. David Miller in his introduction to On Nationality dismisses the claim that nationalism is “some kind of elemental force outside of human control, like a tidal wave.” I agree with Miller that nationalism is not an unavoidable force, nationalism is not a plague that sweeps onto mankind, but a choice of belief. However, I will maintain the stance that the underlying cause of nationalism, known by many terms such as factionalism, tribalism, and in-group bias, is a natural force.
Globalization becomes important today because increasing in depending to the world. Globalization can be determined as increasing in trade and exchange in open economy, integrated and borderless international economy (Intriligator, 2003). Globalization is often used to refer to economic globalization. The integration of national economies into the international economy through trade, foreign direct investment, capital flows, migration, and the spread of technology. Besides that, globalization also can be defined as process of greater interdependence among countries and their citizens. It consists of increased integration of product and resource markets across nations via trade, immigration and foreign investment-that is via international flows of goods and services, of people and of investment such as equipment, factories, stocks and bonds. It also includes non-economic elements such as culture and the environment.

(Bilton et al 1996:5) The process of globalization has certainly had many changing effects to the world we live in; it has also changed the way many factors operate. Globalization is said "to have transformed the structure and scale of human relationships that social, cultural, political, and economic processes now operate at a global scale with a consequent reduction in the significance of other geographical scales. "(The Dictionary of human geography 2004:315) Globalization has had both positive and negative effects on a local, national, international and global level. Globalization often brings benefits at one level which cause negative effects at another, these results and the scale at which they manifest are often uncertain and unpredictable.

As Yazdani, (2009, p. 54) writes, globalization refers to the growing “interconnectedness” of peoples and nations from all over the world via investment, trade, and travel. According to him, globalization is the transformation process in which “local/regional phenomena” are converted into “global ones”. Globalization is viewed from various perspectives, such as social, economic as well as cultural (Sanagavarapu, 2010, p. 36). A major consequence of globalization is the increase in transnational transportation, especially migration to “western and industrialized societies” (Castles & Miller, 1998; Papastergiadis, 2000 as cited in Sanagavarapu, 2010, p. 36).
Globalization, the acceleration and strengthening of worldwide interactions among people, companies and governments, has taken a huge toll on the world, both culturally and economically. It’s generating a fast-paced, increasingly tied world and also praising individualism. It has been a massive subject of matter amongst scientists, politicians, government bureaucrats and the normal, average human population. Globalization promoted the independence of nations and people, relying on organizations such as the World Bank and also regional organizations such as the BRICs that encourage “a world free of poverty” (World Bank). Despite the fact that critics can argue that globalization is an overall positive trend, globalization has had a rather negative cultural and economic effect such as the gigantic wealth gaps and the widespread of American culture, “Americanization”; globalization had good intentions but bad results.
In today’s continuously changing world, many experts say that globalization is what every business, organization, and nation should seek and welcome as a positive change. However, many people are unaware of the main focus and meaning of Globalization, especially in comparison to Localization. A large number of people believe that globalization is just another common word used to refer to changes and differences that cannot be explained or accounted for. Therefore, many different activities or changes are improperly labeled to be a part of or caused by globalization.
Globalization is a new concept that was introduced to the world after the fall of the communist regime. Globalization has to its identity social, economic, and political reforms, .however the globalization that we are about to discuss is the term that combines the past socio-economic and political reforms and cross with them to the world where their are no boundaries, restrictions, and immobilization what Mittelman describes as ? cross-border flows of capital, knowledge, and consumer goods ? (Mittelman 1). For the world to become a one or a single entity it has to pass through a process of economic, and technological integration. The consequence of this unification is the aim of this research, positive and negative, although the negative aspects will be the dominating part.

The interrelation and the integration of people, companies, governments and nations can be described as globalization. Globalization was produced due to international trade and investments with the help of technology. In today’s world, globalization is very essential. Advancements and technology help the process needed for globalization. Many countries and organizations similarly are affected by this phenomenon, on the other hand, smaller countries have benefited from larger contributors to the world’s market.
Globalization is the connection of different parts of the world. Globalization results in the expansion of international, cultural, economic, and political activities. As people, ideas, knowledge, and goods move easily around the globe, the experiences of people around the world become more similar. (“Definition of Globalization“, n.d., ¶ 1)

Over the last couple of years, the world has become increasingly globalized. After the cold war, all parts of the world were attracted to the process of globalization. The effect of globalization is uneven in different parts of the world and globalization suggests a world full of persistent cultural interaction and exchange, contacts and connection, mixture and movement. Different people view globalization in different ways. Some people feel it has done more good than harm, while others believe it has done more harm than good. This essay will give a deep intuitive understanding of globalization, world systems, and how globalization has affected society, culture, economics, and politics.
