A renowned writer once said “Love all, trust a few, do wrong to none.” The few words are describing two well-known plays The Crucible and Othello. Within these two plays it consists of conflicting plots, fights, and beatings. There are to characters that get all of these three, they are Othello (Othello) and John Proctor (The Crucible). These two are essentially the tragic hero within there to plays but who is more of a tragic hero? The life of both went through many issues but their power, motives, and strategy is what made them the tragic hero.
Power a great factor into determining who more of a tragic hero is. A tragic hero is has noble stature and high position in his culture. At the beginning of the play Othello, it began two distinct characters named Iago and Rodrigo. They refer Othello as being a “Moor” (1.i.57), “black ram” (1.i.88), and “Barbary horse” (1.III.48). The reason for all of this was because he was sold into slavery and then broke free, later going into the military. After he joined the military he was going to Cyprus. He did not speak much throughout many of the scenes until he arrived to Cyprus. Othello is black or as the book uses the term a moor. He is different from everyone else and is still a big character even throughout a white crowd. In Venice he an outsider but even as one he is a leader using many tactics to get what he wants. A quote from othello says “Let him do his spite:My services which I have done the signiory Shall out-tongue his complaints. 'Tis yet to know,—Which, when I know that boasting is an honour, I shall promulgate—I fetch my life and being From men of royal siege, and my demerits May speak unbonneted to as proud a fortune As this that I have reach'd: f...

...cked. As for Proctor he profusely refused to sign a paper that will get him off the hook of being free. He essentially said no and he died on his own sword. He refused to protect his friends and everything else. In the end the person as for strategy is Proctor he was selfish and did it in his own regards.
According to literary terms the definition of tragic flaw is “the tragic hero is a man of noble stature. He is not an ordinary man, but a man with outstanding quality and greatness about him. His own destruction is for a greater cause or principle.” So who would this describe the most? We can all guess from throughout this paper and it would be Othello he has power. He is outstanding with being black and persevering through it. Fighting with people then tragically giving his own life and killing his wife. His own destruction was definitely surpassed his cause.
