The Time I Got Staples In grade 2 on the weekend I went to my friends house for a sleepover and we started playing with his little brother. We played a few games and nothing went wrong. Then we played a game where we were running away from his brother and he had to catch us. So we ran upstairs and into his room. We covered the door so he couldn’t get in, but eventually we let him in and he couldn’t get my friend so he went for me. When he finally got me he grabbed my legs and I fell and my head hit the corner of his bed and I was bleeding and screaming like crazy. So I ran down the stairs screaming my bloody head off. So hi mom drove me to the hospital and gave me ice: for my head. When we got the the hospital I was so scared I wasn’t even
focusing on what the doctor was doing. So the doctor sat me down on a bed and put a staple gun to my head and shot me in the head. The reason why he gave me staples and not stitches is because the cut was to big for stitches. After the hospital they drove me home so I could take it easy for a couple weeks And that’s the story of the time I got staples.
The sweat was dripping down my face as I pushed the weights off my chest. Everyone ran towards their bags after a student said there was a gun in school. Twitter was the first source that we checked just to make sure. Boom! The door slammed open as coach Ben yells “Hurry up and get out”. My heart started beating faster and faster. We didn’t know what was going on. As we were running to the gym everyone was panicking and pushing each other. I could feel the burn on my elbow but I didn’t know what it was. When we got to the gym my elbow was covered in blood. We were told to get down and stay quiet. Later on we were told a student brought a gun to school and was planning on committing suicide. That was one of many gun incidents at my high school.
The time I was lost at Walmart, I was six years old I was mad about something and that’s when I started wandering off somewhere until finally I turned around my mom was gone I looked all around couldn’t find her anywhere the feeling of me being by myself without know one being here with me to protect me or be here with me, I felt like I lost her forever and that I can’t find her anywhere because Walmart was like a huge store so it was gonna be tough to find her, after a while I started crying and calling her name “mom!”, at that moment one of the employees at the store helped me find my mom by operating on this entercom and called her name luckily I knew her name because if I didn’t how else will I suppose to find her, next they called her
When I was 10, I was hit by a car. Actually, I was 9 years old, got hit by the car and turned 10 in hospital.
I wake up in the morning and I can feel the bracelet sliding down my arm as I get up. The bracelet feels warmer than usual, this maybe because my arms are covered with blankets that make it warm during the night. When I wake up in the morning my bracelet has no distinct smell…but when I am getting ready I put perfume on that lingers on to the bracelet throughout the day. So it smells fruity almost like fresh berries that you would smell as you walk through the produce section of the grocery store. But a good smell, fresh and fruity.
It all started when it was my seventh birthday party. There was a certain girl I liked. So I decided to show-off and do crazy stuff to impress her. First I tried drinking soda off the bottle but I spilled it on the rug. Everyone laughed so hard that their heads fell off! The girl I liked just sat there, not smiling. For my next attempt, I tried to wrestle my friends but I ended up breaking a lamp. Everyone laughed again. I thought about what I could do to impress the girl I liked.
“Kay, look alive!” my dad frantically calls me. The rustling white flowers under my legs implores me to continue making dandelion crowns, but I reluctantly get up and chase after the ball at my T-Ball game. The year is 2012, and I’m slowly getting the hang of this newfound sport. Throughout my childhood, I was fortunate enough that my parents exposed me to every activity imaginable: basketball, volleyball, tennis, softball, soccer, and so much more.
I am a Dublin kid. I have lived here my entire life. Dublin is a wealthy city; the median income is around $114,000, which is over twice the median income of the state of Ohio (Dublin, Ohio). It is even labeled “The Happiest Suburb in America” (Allan). However, there’s also another name that we’ve given to our community: the Dublin Bubble. It is the idea that kids who have grown up here are sheltered from the “real world”. Although many have debated on the connotation of this term, I believe it is largely negative. The figurative bubble may shield us from harsh realities; however, it can also pave the path for ignorance. As I stand in front of my own peers, I encourage you to take a trip outside of the Dublin Bubble and educate yourself on global issues.
When the end of my 5th grade year had hit; A land mark of the most traumatizing event of my life was about to take place. My mom had left my father and took us along with her. Over the summer and a few addit...
It was time for bed which meant it was story time. I would lie down in my huge bed, all cuddled up in my fuzzy blanket. I patiently waited for my mom to be done with washing the dishes. We started by choosing a book from the many books on the shelf. Our shelf was filled vivid multicolored books. All stacked from the tiniest to the She began to read with her Mexican accent, reading those English words carefully to not mess up.The comfortable feeling in her voice so soft and silvery. I would begin to yawn and I felt the sleepiness hit me, which was normal. I would rub my eyes and try to be awake. I felt my eyes slowly closing. Before I knew it, I was knocked out.
My face turned purple and then when the ambulance came, they put me in and while I was in the ambulance the quarter went down my throat. When I was in the ambulance I took a look around. Then we arrived at the hospital. The ambulance people grabbed the ambulance chair and took me to the X-ray room. When I was at the hospital My brother Dillon was worried about me. The X-ray room was big.
A few days passed and it was new years eve and we were going to go to my uncles to watch the ball drop.I went outside in the barn where my dad already was working on his truck,so I helped him for a few hours then I went back inside.I noticed it was time for lunch so I ate a sandwich.I was feeling a little tired so since it was new years eve I knew I would have to be up really late so I layed down and took a nap. When I woke up I was rushed by my dad saying
It was two days till halloween and I went to get my costume. I decided to get a scary costume and I saw a slenderman costume. I wanted to get because I remember three years ago I wanted a slenderman costume me and my dad decide to get it and head back home quick because I wanted to wear the costume so badly. When we went home I ran to the bathroom like a crazy person to try on the costume. When I put the costume on it was hard to get the mask on because I had to zip the mask on when I put the mask on I couldn't see a thing.
When my parents got home and they had something to tell us so we sat in the living room and my mom said your sister is very sick and they found something in the back of her had and she needs to have surgery to take it out. I was in fifth grade then so they did not tell us everything but I knew what it was my little sister had cancer. My parents told me that she had a tumor in the back of her head the size of a golf ball. I was scared because a friend of mine from school told me that her grandma had just died form cancer so I thought my sister was going to die too I started to cry.
Me and Joe were both seeing who could do the most kick-ups. When it was my turn, I kicked the ball too far and it landed in next doors garden. I walked over to have a look if I could see it. As I was walking over I could see some thing in the bush, I then realized it was an action figure. So I ran to get it, but before I got there, Joe had already beaten me to it. I tried to snatch of him but he kept hold tight, like a dog with a bone. We were fighting and arguing over it for about 2 or 3 minutes. Then all of a sudden he let go and I went flying through the air. I then ended up landing on the concrete out side the back door and smacking my head on the floor. The pain rushed to my head and I started to feel dizzy. It felt like some one had put my head in a vice and tightened it slowly. There was no blood but there was a huge bruise on the back of my head. I started to scream as loud as I could and both of our parents came rushing out of the back door to see what was going on. The bruise lasted for a week or so and I didn’t talk to Joe for a month or so.
It was Christmas night, we were having one of the biggest blizzard in Iowa that year. The electricity was out and my whole family was cuddled up in blankets sleeping in my parents room. Then, in the middle of the night my mom and I woke up to my little sister crying in her crib. My mom got up to try and get her back to sleep. But my mom smelled something unusual, she went out in the kitchen and saw that there was smoke in the kitchen. She then got confused and look everywhere in the kitchen to see what was going on. During this time I was watching her wander around the kitchen because I had no clue what was going on. Then my mom came back in the room and said, “ Stacy get up! I think our attic is on fire!” My Dad jumped up and told my mom to get us kids out of the house to go to our neighbors. When my mom got me up, I was so confused because everything was happening so fast. I kept on asking myself why had not our fire alarms gone off. We quickly got our coats, boots, and hats on and ran out of the house. My parents stayed back and called 911. I was scared to death because I did not know if we were going to lose our house or not. I was also thinking about if my parents are okay and safe.
