The Three Major Resolutions

“The most important thing is to enjoy your life -- to be happy -- it’s all that matters.” - Audrey Hepburn. Above all else, I want to be able to enjoy this year, and everything that comes with it. By following through with the 3 major resolutions I chose, hopefully I will become my best self at some point of the year. That’s the point, right? 2018 will likely go by as fast as 2017 did, and I only have so many resolutions to make until I’m forced to come face-to-face with adulthood. That’s a whole different chapter of my life. For the time being, I think it’s crucial to do the things that will make 2018 a special one. But that’s what everyone says.

My personal improvement promise has everything to do with the quote in the first paragraph. I am determined to be consistently happy this year, and if not, then at least a little more optimistic. I know the year will come with a few obstacles, it would be a miracle to go 365 days without any. I believe that it is my choice whether I’m going to be brought down by them for too long. This is the second most important resolution to me, because 2017 was so busy and I didn’t spend as much time as I know I could’ve. Like I said, I’m eventually going to grow up and having a continuously decreasing amount of spare time is inevitable. Especially if I go to a college out of state or something. I figured that I should enjoy these moments before I get way less of them. At some point, I’m going to look back on my teenage years. I don’t really want my memories to consist of me sleeping in my room most of the time. That would admittedly be a little depressing. I want to remember being with my family and hanging out with my friends, so that I at least have something to look back
