There is no debate that the world's first power of surviving relies on evolution, to a point where one does not have to look outside the box to witness it ... they're sitting on it. Many have mistaken the term "Evolution" with a state of randomness, an improvement or even a biogenesis. Others have related it to the origins of the universe, a social Darwinism that resulted in a massive diversity regarding theory and ideology. While people choose to rest their bodies on a chair in attempt to find an answer to its definition, some have rested their minds and accepted the fact that it only means change over time. It's no question that life on earth is related through common descent and has been changing for a long time, yet the real conflict resides within the people's reactions: Are they or are they not with the change? Charles Darwin, an English naturalist and geologist once said "It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent that survives. It is the one that is most adaptable to change". What is normal for a spider for the butterfly might seem insane, hence the diversity amongst all earthly environments witness different opinions, problems and solutions. With people evolving comes the evolution of thoughts, add to that the evolution of the ways of living. However, one does not grow in a stable environment. This is where architecture made space for innovation before becoming one, and in order to be timeless, you need to live timelessly.

In a world where the Futurists have declared a war on memory and Modernists generally outlawed symbolism in the arts, the post-modern acknowledges the fact that what is already said cannot and will not be avoided no matter how hard we try. The only solution is neither to merely repudiate nor merely imitate either the twentieth-century Modernist parents nor the nineteenth-century premodernist grandparents. They say " We are beautiful like the Acropolis or Pantheon, but we are also based on concrete technology and deceit".
In his opinionated book, From Bauhaus to Our House, Tom Wolfe describes his views on the way architecture has framed our modern world. He frames his book long essay with an excerpt from America the Beautiful, "O Beautiful, for spacious skies, for amber waves of grain, has there ever been another place on earth where so many people of wealth and power have paid for and put up with so much architecture they detested as within thy blessed borders today? . . . Every child goes to school in a building that looks like a duplicating-machine replacement-parts wholesale distribution warehouse . . . Every new $900,000 summer house in the north woods of Michigan or on the shore of Long Island has so many pipe railings, ramps, hob-tread metal spiral stairways, sheets of industrial plate glass, banks of tungsten-halogen lamps, and white cylindrical shapes, it looks like an insecticide refinery." Dell Upton is a historian and renowned professor of architecture and Urbanism at the University of California. He has published several books on architecture; one of them is “Architecture in the United States”, published in 1998. In this book, Upton analyzes the architecture of the United States in different aspects, such as nature, money and art, thus depicting the great variety in architectural forms, and how throughout the decades, different interests have lead communities to different ways of building, different purposes and materials, thus reflecting their way of thinking and their relationship with the environment. What did post-modernism do to liberate the choice of influences? Now that Contemporary architects have the freedom of choice, how are they using “traditional” styles and materials to inspire them? Even after modernism why are traditional styles still around?
Many believed that Modernist works were not “art” because they did not always look like real life. But what is “real life”? A new outlook on reality was taken by Modernists. What is true for one person at one time is not true for another person at a different time. Experimentation with perspective and truth was not confined to the canvas; it influenced literary circles as well.
