On a cold February night in 2003, the rock band Great White took the stage at a night club in West Warwick, Rhode Island known as The Station Night Club. Over 400 patrons had gathered inside the club to hear the music when a display of pyrotechnics, a part of the show, was set of by the bands manager. Igniting the walls of the stage and triggering a blaze that took just six minutes to engulf the entire facility in The Station night club. Fire occupants-were still being assisted through the main bar room windows at 4 minutes after the ignition. At approximately 5 minutes after ignition, flame came out of the front of the building. Seconds later the fire department arrived and began to flow water into the area of the front door minutes to engulf the …show more content…
The staggering number of fatalities can be attributed mainly to the proximity of the pyrotechnics to flammable sound insulating foam, overcrowding of the facility, and the lack of sprinkler system (Graybill, 2003, para. 1). It is tragic to have any loss of life; however, it is more tragic when lives are lost carelessly. Governing entities, building codes and enforcement programs are in place to protect business owners and dictate what is acceptable and legal occupancies for their buildings and under ideal conditions. Despite these tragic types of events, data and research collected from such tragedies help scientist to understand these types of events through computer modeling and assist with any legal proceedings. Fire model is a method using mathematical or computer calculations that describes a system of process related to fire
The fire lasted only 12-14 minutes and killed 492 and injured 164, the reason for this is the building construction, occupancy, and interior design of the club. For better understanding the structure will be described in great detail.
One of the deadliest nightclub fires in United States history occurred on May 28, 1977, a busy Memorial Day weekend in the suburbs of Cincinnati. The Beverly Hills Supper Club was a popular nightclub located in Southgate, Campbell County, Kentucky in the greater Cincinnati area. It was located on a hill less than 1000 ft. from the highway on seventeen acres of land just three miles from downtown Cincinnati (Beverly Hills Supper Club Fire D-1). It has since become a case study for its numerous code violations and the behavior of the fire from ignition to building collapse. While there is no one contributing factor to the significant loss of life at this facility, a study of the building’s history, the sequence of the fire’s progression, and an analysis of the fire’s chemistry can provide some valuable lessons to the future firefighter.

On the fateful and unforgettable afternoon of June 17, 1972 Hotel Vendome experienced yet another fire. Actually it experienced several fires in different locations on this date. Electricians working on the first floor reported smoke coming from the upper floors, and a bartender reported smoke in the basement. All occupants in the basement café were safely escorted out, and 3 engine companies, 2 ladder companies, and 1 District Chief arrived on scene noticing ...
As strategy consultants of McCormick & Associates, we use Porters Five Forces Model as a framework when making a qualitative evaluation of a firm's strategic position (Appendix 1.2). These five forces determine the competitive intensity and therefore attractiveness of a market. These forces affect the ability of a company to serve its customers and make a profit. A change in any of the forces normally requires a company to re-assess the market place.
Ten minutes after lining up, I went inside the nightclub. From the door, I could hear the song and the beat of the bass so loud that my heart could feel it. Inside the nightclub, I saw people were dancing everywhere, on dancing floor, on their own seats, everywhere. They would dance and take a big gulp of their beer. Even the bartenders were dancing too, following the rhythm of the loud funky music. The rainbow rays of light moved through the club to make the mood even more exciting and funky.

The nightclub, is an aged small wood structure in Rhode Island. The club is reported to have a capacity of 182 people. On February 20th 2003, more then 400 fans packed into the small club to see a band. Although there are discrepancies between reports of how many people were in attendance, it is obvious that the number is well over twice the club's capacity.
The BC is located in Bethesda, near Washington and can be described as a high-class entertainment nightclub. The concept of the club is to offer food and beverages accompanied by blues and jazz music, which is played by artists from all over the US. According to the limited amount of seats, the guests are able to experience the artists’ performance in a sonorous and exclusive environment. The club is opened from Wednesdays to Fridays and has a different act on almost every of these days in order to offer something for every taste of music. Furthermore, BC offers the possibility to book the club for corporate events. This service has earned a lot of positive feedback trough known companies such as Morgan Stanley or the Bethesda Magazine (BC, Special Events Brochure). Concerning these observations, one can conclude that BC rather attracts classiness seeking guests, especially ones, who are not returning to often. This makes BC a special place, which vastly distinguishes itself from an ordinary pub. This distinction is further supported by the considerable prices for tickets, which vary between 10$ and 40$.

This horrible incident took place in a theater where the audience was cast of 2000 women and children. School had been out for Christmas and that gave incentive to many of them to show up to the Wednesday matinee performance of Mr. Blue beard. Later during half way of the show, a spark from a spotlight fell down onto the curtains which caused the fire to start, having the curtain fall down onto those on the stage. The crowd bolted out in chaos, even though there were 27 exits, only a few were open for the audience and actors to storm out of there. This is because that the doors were locked, and the idea of having exits specifically for this type of situation had only originated after the terrible incident. The flame on the curtain grew due to the excessive amount of fuel it had (the stage). Nearly 600 (above 25%) had died inside the theater because of this faulty emergency escape structuring. Many then later died to severe burn injuries in the hospitals. Apparently, there were no fire detection nor suppression systems installed in the theater; the curtains didn’t close properly, the heat vents weren’t working well, the doors were either locked or didn’t open in the proper direction, and nor did they have any type of indication for those who were further away from the theater to easily look for the door. All these violations have placed the manager’s under indictment. But none of them were ever punished. And because of the mass amount in causalities, doors were then rigged so that they can open from the inside no matter what the situation was, and signs were placed on top of them indicating that doors were this direction ( as law would mandate it).
During the Upper East Side: A Clash of Titans tour I has the opportunity to learn about civilization and people in the 19th century. On this tour I learned many things such as The Unions club which is the name of a gentlemen’s club. A gentlemen’s club during the 1900s was where wealthy men went to hang out with other wealthy men. William Dams Delano and Chester Homes Aldrich formed The Knickerbocker Club in 1871. They formed this club because they felt the Unions Club let in anyone. In 1891, the Metropolitan club was formed by J.P. Morgan because the Unions club was to elite for himself and other men to get into. The Seventh Regiment Armory was designed by an architect by the name of Charles Clinton. The building was headquarters for the Silk Stocking regiment or as they were also known as the 7th New York Militia.

During the concert the pianist, drummer and saxophonist did a great job, making the rhythm unforgettable. One of the songs that was performed was "Wrapped around your fingers" it contained a romantic melody. While the piano and saxophone then alternated the rhythm, as the passion of the song was motivating everyone to fall into the rhythm of it. The melody which was steady seemed to get faster like a heartbeat by the climax of the song. The sounds were increasingly getting louder until all instruments met at the top with a ban...
After 15 minutes people were starting to get frustrated because nothing was happening. It is a good thing. Suddenly there was activity onstage and the lights dimmed. the first support band, Slam Cartel, came on. The mosh pit went wild.
