The coverage could be from media such as local news or just from someone posting it to a social site where it would be viewed. The use of Social media and the ways that it effects everyone is different depending upon the person.
Social media allows social networking and interacting with others to happen very efficient and easy. Before social media and the internet there were not many ways of communicating other than mail and telephones. There was a time growing up when AOL and that slow dial up service was the only internet there was. Many social networks offer the opportunity for people to re-connect with old friends and acquaintances, make new friends, trade ideas, share content and pictures, and many other activities.
