In today’s society it seems that many peole are being dighnosed with Attention decicet disorder. Millions of dollars are being spent on ADHD medication every year. Some argue that this is not a disease while other doctors say it is. In this paper will look at the history of ADHD what were the early cases to today research and science on this so-called disease. Next we will look at the supporters of such and disease and what are some solution and medication being piscribed and their side affect. Next will examine the skeptics of ADHD and why they believe what they believe. Then, it will show the result of a research that has been done one patients who have been diagnosed of this disease and what is the process of diagnoses. Finally I will determine from my own point of what I think of this disease if it exisit or it just way for companies to cash in on money. First, to understand this disease we have to go back to the time when it was first described. In 1798, Scottish doctor, Alexandra Christen described certain symptoms with kids that had difficulty focusing on task which affected their ability to perform well in school. He specifically talked about how certain kids impressions seems to get agitated and gives them unnatural degree of mantel restlessness. Anything discarded them, from simply people walking up and down the room to someone shutting the door. Alexander Christen was thinking ahead of this time and set the tone for next researchers to expand and look deeper in what is later today called ADHD ( Thehistoryofadahd.com ). A hundred years later, Goerge Fredrick Still, a British child professor talked in his lectures about certain abnormal behavior in children’s. The problem with prescribing ADHD medication is that patient usually take for year and years leading to these short term side effect like, difficulty sleeping at night, moods swings and increased level of stress. Also, some of long time term side effect hey are, gaining weight or loosing weight, difficulty concentrating and dependence on these meds NY Post ADHD Does not Exist (2014). Finally from the Health central website an article by Joe Martino, talks about how the founder of ADHD Leon Eisenberg created this disorder to benefit from it and adds that “ ADHD is fraud intended to justify starting children on a life of drug addiction
