Imagine the rate of american rifleman shooting at the enemy going from 10 to 95 percent!(Tannen 1998). This states that america is getting more and more domesticated to attack other people and engage in more conflict then ever before. When I was growing up I was told that in order to solve a problem that another student had with me the only logic way would be to fight the person. My family members as well as friends would say that if you let anyone step over you that you were a cowards and that confronting the person would be the best thing for someone to succeed. This passage also states that we are desensitized to the pain and suffering of others. This goes true in society today when we see bullying and how it goes on in the world. For example Donald Trump just won the election and the way that people are reacting to the victory are very vulgar. …show more content…

At Utah State University, there has been flyers found all over campus that stated “Shut the fuck up about muslim rights and gay rights”. This is something that bothered my heart to the extreme. People are happy about someone who wouldn't want other people to have the rights and opportunities to succeed in the world because of the way that someone practices religion as well as the way that people look on the outside is something that sadness my soul. We are in the year 2016 and someone won the president election with a slogan of “Make America Great Again” was just a sign to me of how much farther we have to go in this

Darnell “Dynasty” Young is a 17 year old gay teen who has gone through every possible way to stop his bullies from harassing him. His mother has tried everything but hasn’t been able to put a stop to it. Until one day, Young’s mother bought Darnell a stun gun. His mother told him to bring it to school and when the bullies began to torment him to take it out. He did just that, he did not actually shoot anyone he just waved it up in the air to intimidate his bullies. He not only got suspended but he also got arrested, yet the six boys teasing him and calling him names received no punishment whatsoever. (CNN) Young is one of the many kids that go through this type of abuse in a place where they should feel safe. This is an example of the school failing to do anything to prevent this kind of behavior, even after the parents try to intervene. This is also a great example of parents failing to implement high behavior standards by enforcing them to retaliate. Parents should be there to advice a peaceful way of resolving this in a non violent way not give them the weapon. By implementing prevention programs such as activities that help fight bullying can ultimately lead to the end of this horrific thing some kids face each day.

I would beat myself up after being bullied, hitting walls and door as if it was the bully. One day a coach came to ask me if I would be interested in seeing what high school wrestling consisted of. I instantly fell in love with wrestling but had underlined motives of learning moves to use on others such as my bullies.
