As I have recently begun progressing though my life with the intent to re-create and re-develop myself into a strong, individual woman; I can never forget the day where it all clicked and my will to survive triggered me to finally take control of my life. The events of that day take place as follows: As I lay heavily on my bed like a lump; I was completely withdrawn from all worldly matters and stripped of my ability to feel or care. Although my physical body was densely set and sunk under heavy blankets on that rainy April afternoon, but my mind was reliving the experience of the night before. The night before was also mildly rainy, but the piercing cold that day was cold enough to turn my skin painfully dry. The hot whips of the freezing …show more content…
As I looked down, the loud, low rumbling of the giant trucks made me wonder how I would experience a fall from my initial position to the almost invisible pavement of the highway. My smaller than average, petit body would probably smash into one truck then smack onto another vehicle until it splattered on top of a small car and was flung to the grassy side of the highway; bloody and lifeless. When I close my eyes, I could almost taste the tinge of the metallic like flavoured blood. I began walking back and forth on the side of that bridge wondering reckless, indifferent thoughts. Could my drop cause an innocent driver harm? Can my fall potentially create a deathly clash between zooming monster vehicles? I certainly didn't want to hurt anybody. If I died, what would happen? I would be mourned by a few loved ones, wrapped and then buried; slowly ceasing to exist as I decay into the earth. What relevance does my existence have anyways? The alarm starts to beep and I'm back in my bed. It's 2 pm, an hour till my final Math exam worth sixty percent of the course grade. "What's the point? I haven't studied for the final. What does it matter if I fail with a 40 percent or a 0?" I thought in silent …show more content…
I close my eyes and envision a beautifully colored flask in an empty, large, white room. At first it looks like a mosaic styled decorative flask with its edges comprised of tiny lime green clear glass pieces and the whole inside consisting of electric blue and bright yellow colored pieces. However, when I look closer, it becomes clear that this vase like flask is not built out of tiny beautifully colored glass pieces glued together, but completely damaged and covered in cracks which have water seeping quickly out of them and pouring on to the table and then onto the floor. My eye lids, heavy and sluggish from this metal exhaustion; slowly open to fixate on the bright red 2:20 pm. I turn to stare blankly at the ceiling. As the ticking of the clock became louder in my head, my upper body began to tighten as if something on my chest was increasing in weight and escalating this crushing sensation. It was becoming harder to breath. The ticking of the clock does not stop, nor does time because when I look back at the clock, 3:10 pm flamed
In a car crash, the more weight there is, the risk of injuries drops (Williams, May Twenty-second, 2015). In most semi truck accidents (about seventy percent of semi truck accidents), when only the semi truck and trailer alone are involved, there are no deaths. But when another vehicle (such as a car, van, or pickup truck ) is involved, about ninety-eight percent of the time there is at least one fatality, which is really low compared to some other means of transportation (such as a train or an airplane) (EJustice, 2012).
I could hear the car engines roaring to life, horns honk above me. Tiny footsteps echo throughout the tunnel as I leant up against a brick wall. The tunnel seemed to carry on forever like there was no ending. Yellow dimmed lights lead through the path of the tunnel. I tried to control my breathing which got heavier by the second.
The pulse in my wrist quickens, and I can feel it throbbing against my wristwatch in time with the incessant ticking.
heart was beating so fast I thought I would faint at any minute. I saw
Before I could knock on the door, Lester opened it and let me inside. He had a stupid looking grin on his face, and I hoped that he hadn’t seen us kissing in the van. “It’s good to see you,” he said as he looked me up and down. “I just saw you yesterday,” I replied as I crossed the threshold. After he had winked his eye, he said, “I know.”
The man opens his eyes. He didn't know where he was or what his name was. He was a tall man about 6.1, and he had a blond crew cut covered in sand. His eyes were emerald green and had a confused look in them, like they were lost. His clothing was damp from the ocean.
A fatal car accident can occur because drivers are not aware of a sinkhole that has stretched across the entire road. A driver will have to immediately press their brakes, hoping to cease the vehicle in time. As we all know, sudden driver maneuvers are considered unsafe. It can cause drivers to lose control over the vehicle. Not only, will that risk the life of the driver, but the passengers.
Take deep breaths, I told myself. Don't get upset. Try not to think about what has happened. Don't start getting angry. My focus had been intently on a puzzle I was doing since that morning, day fifteen of Light's confinement. L stared at the TV screen. Aizawa read the newspaper. And Matsuda ran in reminding us of why we were all distressed.
I stared down at the exam, holding back the urge to crumple it up and throw it in the trash. It was the third marking period and I was holding yet another test that I failed. I furrowed my brows and sighed. There was a combination of frustration, defeat and indifference. I was sure that I was going to fail the class for the first semester and ultimately drop my grade point average. As the curriculum got more challenging, I was struggling to keep up and it seemed like no matter what steps I took, I could not get my grade above a 65. When I went to confide in my leadership teacher to express my concern, she just gave me a reassuring smile and told me that I could pass the class. I would have to be the one to take action by expressing my worries with my math teacher. That's all she had to say? How could she think that so late in the marking period, I was going to drastically change my grade?
When they returned to the hideout, Dutch and Gilbert were sitting in the office. “I’m glad you made it through,” said Marcel said to them. “Yeah, yeah, those krauts as suckers for cupcakes,” said Dutch “You gave them cupcakes? ” asked Saban. “What would you suggest I give them, gypsy, a kiss?”
Air particles collapsing against my face as gravity pulls me down. Yes!! This is what I called “FAST AND THE FURIOUS”, but the Victor version. The car starts to stumble and lose its balance. “Ohh
The fall is terrifying at first, the gravity pulling me down intensely. The wind brushes down my body. The loss of control is overwhelming. I look up and see the concrete building that held me up before.
“Boom!” A large truck coming head on towards my mom’s car, crashing hard enough to penetrate through six other cars. Is my sister alive? Where did the car go? What’s going to happen?
Impatiently I was waiting, feeling more nervous by the second. However I forced myself to wait for the last ride to finish. ‘Oh wow!’ It is one of the tallest rides possible, as I looked up to the highest part of the ride my neck started to ache! I waited and waited becoming more and more anxious each second that went by.
I can remember that terrible day, when I was riding my bike down my street, and I was having a grand time going up people's driveways and speeding back down. It was a warm summer's day around noontime, and I was on my way home for lunch. I was alone, and I was no more than a mile from my house. I went up this very steep driveway and began to turn around to get that omnipresent rush of going so fast down a hill that I felt like I was flying. I opened my eyes to see a car pulling up the driveway just ahead of me. I jammed on my handlebar brakes, but it was too late, and before I could do anything, I was actually flying through the air. I landed on my head, and to this day I don't remember what happened after my collision with that very inhospitable surface known as the road.
