Christianity is the world’s largest religion with about 2.1 billion followers. In the religion of Christianity, people believe that there is one creator, God. The son of God, Jesus Christ, brought the world messages from God and His teachings. These messages have stayed with people through the teachings of the Bible. Christianity has also developed in its practices and rituals.
The Bible has two parts, the Old Testament and the New Testament. The Old Testament is the Hebrew Bible, the scriptures of the Jewish faith, written at different times between and 165 BC. The New Testament books were written by Christians in the first century AD. The Hebrew Bible has 39 books, written over long time periods, and is the literary archive of the nation
of Israel. It was traditionally put into three sections. The New Testament has 27 books, written between 50 and 100 AD, and falling n into two sections, the Gospels, which tell the story of Jesus (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John) and the Letters written by various Christian leaders to provide guidance for the church communities. People learn about God’s word by reading the Bible, attending church, and family believes. By reading the Bible people get to hear the direct word of God opposed to it being heard from someone else. Along with the Holy Bible there is the Book of Common Prayer that many churches use for their sermons. Churches choose which readings they want to teach every week. Along with the readings, churches practice certain rituals and ceremonies. Some of these rituals include the holy communion, baptism and confirmation. Ceremonies are typically held for important holy milestones such as a first communion or the celebration of confirmation. Many Christian laws have shaped our government and the laws of society. Many of the ten commandments have been used to write laws such as “you shall not kill” has been used for the murder laws. “You shall not steal” applies to theft and “you shall not bear false witness against your neighbor” is used in court that you will not lie about someone or an event that has happened. We see these laws as just rules in society but some Christians see it as God telling all people to live a certain way by setting up standard rules. Christianity has changed throughout the years but will always have one thing stay the same. God is the one true god and His word is the highest authority. Jesus Christ is our messiah sent to teach the people the ways of life. With the teachings of today’s churches and communities Christianity will remain the largest religion.
The Christian Scriptures is the entire Christian Bible. It is composed of both the Hebrew Scriptures and the Christian Testament. The Hebrew Scriptures (Old Testament) is composed of several books all containing stories about Jesus, and the Christian Testament (New Testament) which contains the stories of Jesus and the earliest Christian Communities. Although these stories cannot confidently prove to us that they are true there are several distinct similarities, which are contained in nearly all of the books. These similarities are so frequent that their constant occurrence seems more than coincidence. Although these similarities occur often in the books of the Hebrew Scriptures, there are four short books included in the Christian Testament, which we must rely on to understand Jesus’ ministry and life.
Modern scholars believe that the Hebrew Bible, or Tanakh, was composed by four or five writers between 1000 to 400 BCE based on much older traditions. The New Testament was composed by a variety of writers between 60 to 110 CE. The contents of the New Testament were formalized by Athanasius of Alexandria in 367 CE, and finally canonized in 382 CE (Geisler and
The Old Testament is a collection of writings, written and edited by members of the Hebrew-Jewish community between the twelfth century B.C. and the beginning of the Christian era. It consists of such diverse materials as prophetic oracles, teachings of wise men, instructions of priests and ancient records of the royal courts. Some material is historical, some is legendary; some is legalistic, some is didactic. For the most part the writings were written in Hebrew, but a few passages were written in Aramaic, a kindred language which came into common use among the Jews during the post-Exilic era. The Aramaic portions include Dan. 2:4-7:28; Ezra 4:8-6:18, 7:12-26; Jer. 10:11; and one phrase in Gen. 31:47 "Jegar-sahadutha," translated "Heap of Witness."
Christianity is based on life and teachings of Jesus. The original language was Aramaic and Greek. Around two billion people believe and follow Christianity. The book of Christianity is the Holy Bible. Christians believe in the Holy Trinity,
The Bible contains two parts, which are the Old Testament, the so-called the Jewish Bible, and the New Testament. Though many different writers involved in writing the Bible, the two Testaments are not independent; they are cross-referenced to each other. Christians often treat the Old Testament not only as the historical documents or literatures of the Israelites, but also as an important element of the foundation of the New Testament, because the writers of the New Testament lay strong emphasis on the relationship of Jesus with the prophecies of the Old Testament, which includes "the birth of Jesus, the place of His birth, the flight into Egypt, the return to Nazareth, the role of John the Baptist in preparing Jesus for His public ministry," the crucifixion of Jesus, and the resurrection of Jesus.
The Bible is a collection of sixty books that was written by diverse of authors, including the apostles and the disciple of Jesus. The Bible divided into two Testaments; the Old and New Testament. The Old Testament or the old contract is a collection of thirty-six books and the New Testament has twenty seven books. The New Testament is a contract between God and the humanity through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The Koran was written by Muhammad, a prophet of God. Muslims believed that he received a message from Angel Gabriel and wrote the Koran. However, Both the Bible and the Koran are the words of God. The Christians believe in the resurrection of Christ Jesus has the son of God while the Muslims do not believe Jesus Christ as the son of God.
The Old Testament serves as a foundation for the teachings of God, while the New Testament continues to build and preserve God’s principles. The Old Testament and New Testament have a very unique relationship, as they are complementary to each other. The Old Testament contains many prophecies that are fulfilled in the New Testament. God can be viewed as fearsome in the Old Testament, whereas God portrays a friendlier and more compassionate persona in the New Testament. Although there are many differences between the two, there are also many similarities due to the heavy influence that the writings of the Old Testament had on the books and passages of the New Testament. An example of similarity between the Old Testament and the New Testament can be examined between passages from the First Book of Samuel and the Gospel of Luke, located in the Old Testament and New Testament respectively.

The Christian worldview has shaped many people’s lives for those who
