The Responsibility of a Catholic Citizen in a Free Society
Before we start to talk about our responsibilities we should be grateful that we are able to practice our own faith and we can stand up for our religion and speak up about it. We are here to be an example for the rest of the people out there who do not know any better and are falling in there lives. It is our responsibility to help them. We also have responsibilities of our own - respecting authority of both the church and government, evangelizing or spreading the word, donating time and money to church and those in need, tolerance and many more.
We are surrounded by challenges like abortions, poverty, and violence which all destroy the lives of people that were put here by God and were not able to live because of our choices. It is our responsibility to help and support people who fall into these categories. We should now defend human life and dignity, to make people practice justice and peace, and maintain family life and moral values.
Abortion is a major issue today in our world. Thousands of people out there do it today. Our teachings call us to protect human life and here we are killing it just because we don’t want it. Violence also is sort of the same thing. We are hurting another human just because we don’t like them or are mad at something else and we take our anger out on them. We need to set an example for the people that are doing it so they start to realize that this isn’t what everyo...
We as a society have acted upon our obligations in the past, such as during World War 2, yet the occasional dose of action is not what we are supposed to desire as humans. We can not say “I will help these people who are being abused today, yet these people yesterday are on their own.”. Moral obligation is not something so fickle as we wish to make it seem. Although the proposal I have left you with is tough to chew on, it is the right principle to act upon if we are to improve human life and live morally good lives.
No upstanding and sane person would ever sanction mass murder; and yet, by supporting abortion that is just what is happening. Every day 3,238 babies are killed in brutal ways inside the womb through processes such as dilation and curettage, where a loop shaped knife is used to cut the baby into pieces, then its body parts are checked in case any parts remain in the mother ("Abortion"). Even worse, such statistics do not include the abortions that take place due to contraceptives and the “morning after pills”. However, the most horrific aspect of this aside form sickening medical procedures and toxic medicine is the culprits. Parents, the two most important people who are supposed to protect their children, have deserted them and left them vulnerable, sentenced to death.
The diverse, and often volatile, points of view associated with the abortion issue often incorporate raw emotion powerful enough to lead to violent behavior. The difficulty in defining the morality of the issue perhaps provides a breeding ground for immoderate thinking brought on by the all or nothing stands of the supporters and opponents of the issue. This intolerance of the "other side" has led t...
In order to "curb violence" and protect innocent lives, our nation must come to understand that every individual is known and loved by God; that every individual has been willed by God and made in His image and likeness; that "human life" is under the special protection of God; and as a result - that every individual must be afforded the first and most fundamental of all human rights - the right to life.
Abortions have been a much known topic for the century in the United States. It is a topic that has been debated on whether or not it should be illegal. Some people think that to have an abortion is a sin. Some think that women who abort children are evil, and are murderers. Often they do not understand the reason on why babies are aborted. It requires our immediate attention because each day and year, there are many children that are aborted and less babies that are able for adoption. Soon to be mothers are often affected by this problem. Abortions should be outlawed all together. There needs to be a solution to this problem.
In our society, there are many ethical dilemmas that we are faced with that are virtually impossible to solve. One of the most difficult and controversial issues that we are faced with is abortion. There are many strong arguments both for and against the right to have an abortion which are so complicated that it becomes impossible to resolve. The complexity of this issue lies in the different aspects of the argument. The essence of a person, rights, and who is entitled to these rights, are a few of the many aspects which are very difficult to define. There are also issues of what circumstances would justify abortion. Because the issue of abortion is virtually impossible to solve, all one can hope to do is understand the different aspects of the argument so that if he or she is faced with that issue in their own lives, they would be able to make educated and thoughtful decisions in dealing with it.
Activist say that abortion is murder, having scientist to prove human life becomes real as soon as the fermentation process beings. One of God’s commandments states “you shall not kill”, which is extended to unborn children. Church continues to teach the results or procreation from the moment of the child’s existence including body and spirit as well. Women are apparently conflicted when choosing to get an abortion, feeling psychologically forced to have an abortion, that the people who are responsible for the peer pressure fall on people who encourage the spread their attitude toward sexual permissiveness and their lack of esteem towards motherhood, and not only is the mother of the child being aborted responsible but the father as
Babies die every day from the choice of an abortion. People use abortion as an option because they have the fear that their family and friends will judge them by their mistakes. Minors are usually the ones who use abortion as their first choice, they try to get out of major consequences. Along with minors, adults use abortion as an early choice also. People believe abortion is an easy way out, but what they should know is that it is nothing but murder. Every day minors, adults, students, and even parents make the wrong decision with using abortion. They don’t see how much it affects not only the fetus but also the mother. We all make mistakes and because of a choice that was thought logically incorrect, a child could be in danger and have the opportunity to live their life taken away from them. Abortion hurts young fetus, but also it hurts the sentimental feelings of the adult. Every person has feelings, even an adult, when someone has an abortion they feel the pain in their heart along with their body. It is the quick decision of an abortion that leads to life struggles and depression in the future.
The topic I will be discussing is a major issue today in which our society has a major problem and tends to be a sensitive topic in every category which is abortion. The views on abortion can be easily one sided with only the women’s opinion because they are the ones going through the process of, quote on quote, killing a baby. Abortion is defined as the termination of a human pregnancy, most often performed during the first 28 weeks of pregnancy, or in other terms the expulsion of a fetus from the uterus by natural causes before it is able to survive independently.

Abortion sets a bad example the future of our nation. We know this through research. With a study towards attitudes about abortion in young adults ages eighteen to twenty one, from the years 1977 to 1993. This study attempted to determine if court rulings had an effect on the views of abortion. In response to this study eighteen year olds were mostly pro-choice and twenty one year olds were the least. Males are more pro-choice than females (Misra and Hohman. 85). Abortion is a very common thing, more common than we would like to believe. Approximately 1.5 million abortions take place every year in the united states, one in ever four abortions come from pregnancies and unintended pregnancies ( Misra and Hohman 85). Abortion causes much harm. Abortion can cause infection, perforation of the u...
The beliefs and views of modern society are hypocritical and unjust. By the time an individual matures from a young child to an adult, they have been taught an uncountable number of life lessons. One of the outstanding lessons that each and every person has learned is that killing another human being is wrong. This is perhaps the first recognizable lesson on the value of human life. Most children know that killing is against the law and learn religiously that it goes against all religious morals and beliefs, yet society is bombarded by violence everyday in the media and in real life. Today, the value of human life can be questioned, especially that of the young. Through numerous examples of child murder and abortion it is rather obvious that the lives of the unborn or newly born are not valued to the degree that they should be. In most cases, the young are not recognized as "people" and are robbed of their human rights and freedoms. Young lives, both born and unborn, are seen as more of a commodity these days, than as precious, magical miracles.
The Catholic tradition educates that the dignity of humans can be maintained and that a stimulating community can only be attained if responsibilities are met and human rights are secured. This means that every person fundamentally has a right to live as well as the right to the things needed to be an etiquette human being. Responsibilities and duties to our families, ...
It is almost unanimously agreed upon that the right to life is the most important and sacred right possessed by human beings. With this being said, it comes as no surprise that there are few issues that are more contentious than abortion. Some consider the process of abortion as immoral and consisting of the deprivation of one’s right to life. Others, on the opposite end of the spectrum, see abortion as a liberty and a simple exercise of the right to the freedom of choice.
Physically killing is not the only killing, abortion can be worse. There is a debate on whether abortion should or should not be legal. Abortion is defined as a removal of the fetus in the womb before the baby comes to full term. It is one of the most popular issues right now in the world. This procedure is the mother and father’s decision to make to choose to not give birth to the baby. Abortion should be made illegal not just in the United States but also worldwide because abortion can cause a lot complication, it takes the live of innocents, it has effects and permanent damage in people’s lives and it can also increase the rate of death.
