The Red Tide
The Red is a algae bloom that releases toxins into the ocean and releases horrid smells that can leave you with respiratory problems like hacking horribly, minor cough , or asthma in worse cases. The algae bloom releases toxins when its in a high concentrated state into the ocean that the shellfish take in but they don’t die. Instead they concentrate all of it into their body’s in a small space and if a human eats the shellfish the human has a huge chance of dying because of the toxin. The algae bloom also affects fish because the fish cant absorb the toxins and survive like the shellfish and ,because of the toxins theres a ginormous amount of fish that are killed by the toxins and there lifless bodys will be floating all the way to the beach and if a bird trys to eat it they can also die from the poisining .
The Red Tides occur can occur from human actions from agricultural runoff. Agricultural runoff can help the Red Tides can form because they are full of nitrates that will grow phytoplankton. Phytoplankton are single celled organisms that are plant-like organisms that can form dense, visible patches near the water's surface. And when they are in a high concentration area they can produce toxins that can paralyze . They can also change colors from either brown to green to red. Another way that the Red Tides can occur from humans is global warming (which humans have increased drastically since 1970). Global warming has increased sea level temperature which in turn will increase the number of phytoplankton and in turn can increase the Red Tide.

To conclude, the Red Tide is formed by the concentration of phytoplankton in a area. The bloom can kill you or cause you respiratory problems if you eat the affect fish or stay in the area for a long time. The Red Tide can both occur naturally and man made. It can form man made from global warming ( Which is caused by air pollution) . Agricultural pollution ( which is when fertilized soil goes into the water), and naturally from the desert and El Nino events and desert sands. In order to lessen the frequency or try to stop it people have to pollute less to lessen the frequency of it and also to report any signs of the Red Tide because if you do the authority's will come and secure the area.
On average a given spot will experience two high tide and two low tides in a day. The tides are experienced due to the moon gravitational pull. The low tides are experienced when we are facing 90 and 180 degrees away from the moon. Then the high tides are found when we are facing the moon and when we are facing away from the moon.

In the nineteenth century, the Florida manatee population started to decline in numbers due to settlers hunting them for their meat (Pittman 15). In addition, during that time some of the scientists started to notice a decline in manatee sightings in areas they were known to migrate. Since permits were being granted to kill Florida manatees for science, and poachers were hunting them for their meat, government officials and researchers were concerned for the manatee's future (Pittman 17). Currently, there are many factors the Florida manatee is facing that poses a threat to their existence. Unfortunately, the greatest threat to the Florida manatee in the twenty-first century is boating and the loss of their natural habitat (McAullife 18). In fact, many boaters who have businesses have protested that their businesses are more important than the clumsy animals. He then got his friend, Fortunato, drunk enough that he did not know what was going on. Montresor then chained his friend to a wall and boxed him in with mortar, all as an act of revenge and justice in his eyes. Leading scientists advise climate change will cause increases to the frequency and intensity of extreme weather events. Rising sea levels pose a significant risk to coastal communities, while the world’s oceans could become too acidic to support coral reefs and other calcifying marine organisms. Coral reefs contain only six per cent of the area of the Great Barrier Reef, yet they provide critical habitat and food for numerous species in the ecosystem. However, climate change has already impacted coral reefs in the Great Barrier Reef as corals are very helpless against its potential impacts. Eight mass coral bleaching events has occurred since 1979, triggered by unusually high water temperatures. And because of this, zooxanthellae (photosynthetic algae) leave their tissues and corals will have no more colours hence ‘bleaching’. The winds flow over the ocean’s surface creating friction that spawns chops, pushing up the seas forming perfect bands of open ocean swell. Pushed on by gravitational forces, the swells speed away from the winds that they came from, moving across the deeps until they feel the drag of the shallows near the coast. As the swells rise up out of themselves, they peak, curling into the liquid dreams that we surfers ride (Kampton 4).

The beginning of the industrial revolution resulted in an increase in the amount of anthropogenic carbon dioxide (CO2) released into the atmosphere due to an increase in industrial and agricultural productions. The ocean absorbs approximately 32% of the CO2 that is released from burning fossil fuels into the atmosphere each year, and thus the dramatic increase in atmospheric CO2 is coupled with an equally drastic increase of CO2 absorbed by the ocean. Ocean acidification is simply the process of the chemical change in seawater caused by the absorption of CO2 (Schlesinger & Bernhardt, 1997).
Surfers, swimmers and sunbathers use beaches for recreation. People fish off beaches for food. Since many people take their vacations at the beach, lots of beaches in tropical locations are important to their country’s economy. Entire cities, regions and countries depend on the money tourists spend while visiting the beach. Beaches are naturally very dynamic places, but people try to control them and build permanent structures, such as houses, restaurants, shops and hotels, on or near the shore. The natural erosion and deposition of beaches becomes a problem. Beaches con disappear over time, or even over night during severe storms. Beaches are areas of loose sediment (sand, gravel, cobbles) controlled by ocean processes. Most beaches have several characteristic features. First are offshore bars, which help protect beaches from erosion. Next is the foreshore, which rises from the water toward the crest of the next feature; a berm. On low-lying shores, dunes form behind beaches. Dunes look like rolling hills of sand and are blown into place by the wind. New, smaller dunes are often changing shape as the wind continues to affect them. Waves and currents move the accumulated sediment constantly creating, eroding and changing the coastlines.
Red tides have made many people sick such as residents and tourists of Florida’s Gulf Coast. The tides also have affected many business owners because many tourists don’t want to come to beach resorts because of Red tides. Red tides are caused by two ways. One of the ways are the algae reproducing and giving an effect of toxic air. Many outbreaks have also occurred because of red tides. Such of these things include poising form fish and shellfish. To stop Red tides, many researchers have done numerous experiments to try to find a way a way to stop Red tides! There are three main solutions to stopping Red tides. If we try to do these solutions red tides will decrease in the amount of times they occur.

“The sandy beach is a harsh, constantly changing environment,” explained by the UKMCS (2). This is the ocean is constantly moving because of the wind in the earth’s atmosphere (Crawford 4). Along the edge of most coastlines, a commonly found zone is an estuary (Marine Conservation Society (UK) SouthEast 1). This is where brackish waters, an area where freshwater is released and mixed with the ocean’s salt water, is created (1). However, even though there are small amounts of freshwater added, this does not change that the salinity of the ocean is remarkably high.
Tides are common features of the ocean. Tides occur when large bodies water rise and fall, because of the gravitational pull of the moon and the sun. Spring tides are especially strong tides; in spite of the name they have nothing to do with the season spring. They occur when the Earth, the sun, and the moon are in a line. Spring tides occur during the full moon and the new moon. Neap tides are especially weak tides. They occur when the gravitational forces of the moon and the sun are perpendicular to one another. When water moves from side to side, it is called a current. Currents move warm and cold water to different parts of the ocean.
