Ideology is defined as being a set of ideas and beliefs of a group of people or a political party. Ideology is a collection of ideas that could be considered as bias because ideology is based on beliefs with facts that only support those beliefs. There are many different avenues within ideology. Ideologists are divided into different political groups based on their beliefs and political ideas. Examples of ideologies consist of Anarchists, Communists, Fascists, Liberals, Populists, Conservatives, Socialists, Libertarians, and Authoritarians. The main purpose of ideology is to provide ideas and goals that will assist in making changes in society as needed. Ideology also involves finding the correct approach to achieve its goals. Conservatives believe that the unborn child have separate rights from their mother and the mother should not have the right to terminate the unborn child’s life. They also do not support tax players being financially responsible for abortions. Liberals feel the opposite of conservatives. Liberals believe that it’s the mothers right to decide what happen to her body. Abortion is a very controversial discussion because each group have compelling views on why it should or should not be legal. The United States seem to take a middle ground when creating laws about abortion. Even though the law differs from state to state, abortion is legal until a certain trimester. I believe that the different standpoints of the political party’s help form a decision on the way that the government would approach laws dealing with these issues. Another issue is gun …show more content…
Everyone have their own opinion on whether the gun laws are helping to reduce gun related crimes and whether it is our rights to have possession of firearms. A conservative believes that the second amendment grant Americans the right to bear arms and the option to protect themselves, while liberals feel differently. The interpretation that liberals have of the second amendment is that firearms are only for militia and law enforcements. I can understand why some people would only want law enforcement and the military to be the only ones to have access to them. Even though I understand their views, I see the person behind the uniform. We are all flawed human beings. There have been mass shootings, police shooting innocent people, people shooting innocent police officers and people shooting each other. Guns should not be available for one group of people and not the other. I believe that law enforcement should have weapons because they put their lives at risk every day, but citizens should be able to protect themselves. Guns should be available but they should have more requirements to attain them legally because there are people using them for malicious activity. Those who use them maliciously and cause harm to numerous people should be held accountable and should receive disciplinary action that fit the
Abortion is a very sensitive topic when examining it in a political sense. An individualistic political culture's views on this issue can be summed up by Pro-Choice. When looking closer at their views, we see that they believe that women have a right to their own choice when it comes to her own body. Individualistic cultures view abortion as a right the government should protect diligently. Additionally, they believe a fetus is not a human so therefore it is not considered a murder. In addition, they push for taxpayer money should go to funding abortions for women who do not have the funds to provide it on their own.
When it comes to my political beliefs, I am indecisive between being a Republican or a Democrat. The reason for this, is because I never really showed enough interest into learning more about politics. As for my politically ideology, I feel that I am more liberal than I am conservative. In theory, ideology is defined in two ways, “(1) Organized set of political attitudes based on underlying principles”, and “(2) a cohesive set of beliefs that form a general philosophy about the role of government” (McAtee). An Individual’s political ideology can be formed from public opinions and agents of socializations (McAtee). According to the quiz I took on “Politopia.com”, the results showed that I was “Centerville”, which means that I am in between of being a Democrat or a Republican, or that I support both sides and yet oppose to both sides.
Abortion is a very controversial and sensitive topic in today’s society. Two different sides to this argument is pro-life and pro-choice. Pro-life proponents believe in the right to life for unborn fetuses saying that abortion should be considered murder regardless of how far along in the pregnancy the woman is. Pro-choice advocates people who believe the woman carrying the fetus should be able to make her own decision on aborting the fetus.
Conservatives believe that the Second Amendment gives citizens of the United States the right to bear arms. Citizens also have the right to defend themselves. Conservative views point out that laws pertaining to gun control do not stop people who disobey the law, such as criminals, from obtaining guns. To lower the gun crime rates, new, additional laws should not be created. Instead, the enforcement and abidance of laws currently in place is what is needed in order to solve the issue of gun control, according to the conservative view. On the opposing political viewpoint of the liberals, guns are not needed for citizens’ protection. The role of the government is to protect the people through law enforcement and military. Liberals believe that there should be more gun control laws created in order to lessen gun violence as well as limit the ability for criminals to obtain guns. Liberals believe that more violence is inevitable with more guns in the possession of citizens (Conservative vs. Liberal
One of the most debatable topics even in today’s society is the right to abortion. Some people believe that life starts at conception and that even an unborn child deserves the same legal protections as an adult. Pro-life advocates argue that ending its life is similar to murder (POLS210, n.d.). Mean while, others also known as Pro-Choice believe it begins at birth and that with laws that restrict abortion it gets in the way with the right of a woman to make a decision of what is in her own best interest (U.S. History, n.d.).
People have their own beliefs on certain topics like abortion, right to die assisted-suicide, and the stand your ground laws. These beliefs are either conservative or liberal. Liberal thinkers believe that a woman has the right to do whatever she wants to do with her body and that a person has the right to die if they want to. Conservative thinkers believe that a baby is a human being and that a loved one or doctor should not help a loved one kill itself. I am on the conservative side for these different types of murders:abortion, right to die assisted-suicide,and stand your ground laws. We in America have our freedom and we can do almost anything we want, but just because we can do something doesn’t mean we should do it for example
The term ideological is defined as "a more or less consistent set of views as to the policies government ought to pursue." (Wilson, 116) I believe that I am ideological in my political thinking. I stand really strong on what I believe in and will always try to persuade people that my thinking is right. My opinion on spending more money on national security rather than welfare is strongly felt because I have been a victim where I suffered because the government spent too much money on welfare rather than national defense.
Lencioni’s theory fits best within the first two stages of Tuckman’s team development theory, the forming and storming phases where trust is established, goals are created, and processes are outlined. The other phases of Tuckman’s theory occur as many of these dysfunctions are worked out and not overshadowing the team dynamic any longer. In each stage of team development shows detectable moods and behaviors. The four stages are a supportive outline for identifying a team 's behavioral patterns. Looking at each stage can help us understand the development and what is possibly needed to make the team work.
Abortion has been a controversial topic in the U.S ever since it became legal in 1973 after the Roe v. Wade case. Abortion is defined as the, “the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy, most often performed during the first 28 weeks of pregnancy.” Pro-life supporters believe that abortion is unethical and argue that it is the mother’s responsibility to own up to her actions. They also argue that there is always the option of adoption, and that abortion could be very dangerous. I am pro-life and believe that the government doesn’t have the right to decide what a woman can or can’t do with her body.
A political ideology is a coherent system of political ideas and beliefs that provide us with visions of what the good society should look like and a road map regarding how to bring it about.

Why is our own personal political ideology important? I believe that it is very important
Conservatism is an ideology consisted of ideas and beliefs that value social order and tradition. The question of whether or not conservatism is a coherent ideology is a highly debated topic. Conservatism can be seen as a disbelief to its critiques against other political ideologies such as liberalism. (Ruth, 2017) However, I believe the ideas of conservatism do make up a coherent ideology. Throughout this essay I will explain the reasons why I believe the ideas of conservatism make a legitimate ideology. The Oxford Dictionary defines an ideology as “a system of ideas and ideals, especially one which forms the basis of economic or political theory and policy.” Meaning that in order for a viewpoint to be deemed an ideology it must contain a
This question shows that ideology could be extinct only if individuals view it as false and allow it to be exposed from one analysis to another which could remove ideology. However if people accept the characteristics of politics ideology will always occur. In relation to this course ideology links to lobbying groups. Lobbying groups are a form of ideology that manipulates government decision in legislation, since lobby groups influence politics this is an example of how ideology plays a significant role in politics as new ideas emerges to create political
