The biggest debate of World War II was whether the Atomic bombs were the right choice. Truthfully, they were. The Atomic bombs were necessary to end the war and get the Japanese to surrender. “In the Japanese culture, it was prominently represented in the samurai way of the warrior -Bushido- and was a key aspect of the Japanese desire to fight to the death. ”(Cote, 2023). The Japanese believed that the right thing to do was fight to the death so no matter what was chosen multiple people would suffer, the bombs were the smarter choice. The smarter choice is in multiple ways. It was the reason the war ended a lot faster. It saved American lives and Japanese lives. They pushed the Japanese to surrender. The Japanese had no plan of surrendering anytime soon; they had believed that they were winning and why would they surrender if they did not think they were going to win? The Japanese also honored their culture very much, it was a desire to fight to the death when it came to war.
