The bible has two different forms of communicating it’s message to the world. One form being oral communication this is when a person depends mostly on verbal, audio, and some type of visual means of communication. “Verbal communication is the very first form of communication that we read about in the Bible ” (Brown, 2012). When using a form of oral communication such as an audiotape people can replay the sections over and over again. This allows them time to think about what they are hearing and relate this is their own life experiences. Oral communication allows the speaker to not only get their point across, but to provide a story with expressions and body language that can bring what they are saying to life. He does not feel that always of oral communication are bad just that they can misconstrue the message that needs to be sent at times. The written language is very clear into the point when it is expressed into the reader the truth about God’s word. “This way was more precise, more permanent, more subjective, and more easily disseminated and any other media he utilized” (Geisler & Nix, 2012, p.164). In the written form the writer can go into great detail thanks for the whole story without leaving anything out. The written language will always be more accurate, because there is less of a chance for the words to be altering as they are during oral communication. “No matter how careful and oral communication is related, there is always a greater chance for corruption and alteration then with recorded words” (Geisler & Nix, 2012, p.165). When someone is translating a message they will always put things in their own words or alter it to fit the audience in which they are speaking to at that time. In a survey of 2,000 Americans 84 percent own more than one Bible, the average person has 4 copies of the English Bible in their home. 37 percent read the Bible every day, 22 percent read it 3-5 times a week, 22 percent read it 1-2 times a week, 11 percent read it 2-3 times a month, and 8 percent read it only once a month (Poll). If people knew the pain, loss, and fear that the early people had to go through to translate the Bible into English, maybe people would read and take care of the Bible better. Without the English translation of the Bible people wouldn’t know God’s truth for themselves.
The words of Christ and his main ideas are totally visible in his parables. The main themes that one can grasp for Jesus usage of parables was for one, he used parables to help one whole hearty search with diligence to discover the hidden truth behind the message he preached. Indeed parables were a reoccurring means that Jesus used when speaking to the people or his disciples. He always recognized that he could not teach his listeners unless he made them educate themselves.
