All kinds of people from around the world outside of the U.S. have trouble with things and there are many reasons why people from across the world choose to immigrate to America.
Some of the main and obvious reasons for people wanting to immigrate to America is poverty, having trouble getting money, they need a better job, or freedom. Immigration has been going on for a really long time like as early as the 1600s and has been going on since them and it gets even more and more common every year for someone to immigrate to U.S. from a foreign country. During the 1880s to 1920 there was probably the most people immigrating which was the colonial era at the time. see those opportunities anywhere else. I also think another big reason why immigrants come to America is because they struggle very much with money or just life in general in there old homes. After the war in 1812 there was a resumption of trade In America and that led to more immigrants coming to America at the time. This is shown when Dennis Wepman said, “With the end of the War of 1812 and the resumption of trade, the flow of immigrants from the British Isles and northern europe began again and soon swelled to unprecedented heights” (Immigration by Dennis Wepman pg. 90). This shows a big reason why immigrants wanted to come to America during the time and it was because of the trade beginning again and immigrants then were very interested in trade a lot but immigrants have always been interested in things like trade just not as much as in the 1812s. During the time after the war in 1812 the resumption of trade seemed to be the main reason for most immigrants coming to America. It’s obvious that during the 1810s time when the war between the U.S. and Britain ended and the resumption of trade happened that more people from around the world would want to come to a place where there is good trade and a lot of it. As immigrants come for economic success and better jobs some end up really successful and can actually end up being helpful to the economy of the country.
This is shown when Arizaga says, “After they get here, immigrants start contributing to the economy of this country. They wear many hats in American society. They are family members, students, workers, business owners, investors, clergymen, and members of the armed services, to name just a few of their roles” (Why do immigrants come to United States of America?). This explains what a lot of immigrants come for even though it didn’t say anything about that but that is what every immigrants wants to accomplish when they come to the U.S. because there are big opportunities to do those things and possibilities and there has been a lot of immigrants that have been able to impact lives throughout America while doing those things that were shown in the evidence. Immigrants with a good mind set and want to be successful come to America so he or she can be and try to make an impact on the world like many immigrants have done and that is a very big thing that immigrants hope to find when they come to
America. A lot of immigrants come to America because it is considered as the land of economic opportunity for people that are struggling the U.S. has things that can help you get a better life. This is shown in the article called Immigration to the United States that says, “Fleeing crop failure, land and job shortages, rising taxes, and famine, many came to the U. S. because it was perceived as the land of economic opportunity. Others came seeking personal freedom or relief from political and religious persecution” (Immigration to the United States). These are reason some of the immigrants come to the U.S. because the United States is known for being the land of economic opportunity and success so that’s grabs a lot of people attention that want to be successful but can’t be in their foreign countries. It is obvious and proven that anyone that lives in the U.S. wants yo be successful and the article Immigration to the United States tells us that most immigrants not surprisingly like to come to the U.S. because it is known for being the place where you can achieve any goal anyone wants. There are factors for Mexican citizens wanting to come to the United States of America and research by Daniela Grava states what factors she thinks lead to Mexican citizens wanting to coming to America. The factors of Mexican citizens wanting to come to America are shown when Daniela Grava says, “Some pull factors that make the US appealing include access to better healthcare and quality education, large existing communities of Mexican immigrants, family reunification, and more job opportunities. These factors are correlated with the economic benefits of the American dream” (Why do so many Mexican immigrants come to the United States?). These factors are the biggest or one of the biggest reasons for immigrants wanting to come to the U.S. because in Mexico there isn’t as much good job opportunities education, etc. and those mexican citizens want something better than what they have and the U.S. has that so they come to the U.S. for that reason. Mexican citizens struggle in Mexico because there is not many good ways to be extremely successful compared to U.S. and they notice that so that is why they choose to come to the U.S. A lot of immigrants want to come to the U.S. because they can be free religiously they have a higher chance of being successful and some people come to the U.S. because they have to. This is shown in an called U.S. Immigration Before 1965 when it says, “Many immigrants came to America seeking greater economic opportunity, while some, such as the Pilgrims in the early 1600s, arrived in search of religious freedom. From the 17th to 19th centuries, hundreds of thousands of African slaves came to America against their will” (U.S. Immigration Before 1965). These are big reasons for the immigrants coming to the U.S. because these are reasons where if somebody wants to move because they want to be free religiously, be successful, or have to move somewhere they realize that the U.S. is the best place to move if they want to be those things or the best place to go if they have to leave their other country. It is proven by History.com and other sources that immigrants choose to come to the U.S. because it is the best place to move, you can be free, and you can more successful than you could ever be in any other country. Immigration is something that has been happening in the U.S. for many centuries and why immigrants is a big talking point around the country and the biggest proven reason why immigrants come to the United States is because of good economic opportunity and being able to be more successful in the U.S. than anywhere else. There is still other big reasons why immigrants come to the U.S. but there is one big one which was just mentioned.
The United States of America always had a reputation of being the land of newcomers and immigrants. Principally, in the 16th and 17th century Puritans arrived in the New World (modern day eastern USA) to be able to practice their religion; Moreover , throughout the 19th century Irish and German immigrants left their homeland to seek job opportunities and resources in the United States. Furthermore, throughout the 20th century, immigrants arrived from other parts of the world such as Eastern Europe , Mexico, and etc. Logically, there's a pattern in the sociology of the United States. Why would foreigners come to the United States and leave their homeland?
With the difficulties and the dangers of migrating are big, people are willing to risk their lives in order to reach the American Dream. People dream of making it to the US and having a big luxurious life when in reality all the jobs they can get is working in the fields and or factories. They discrimination they are going to face because how they look and speak, the idea that they may never make it to the top unless they go back to school and get a degree. The harsh realities with being an immigrant in the United States is big, always having to worry about ICE, or losing a job, this constant fear of being deported. In every society there is hegemonic society that prevails over everyone else and controls everything and everyone. Immigrants come to America to seek a better life and receive a better education. America
The spark in the number of immigrants entering the United States began in the late nineteen sixties to the early nineteen seventies. People came to the United States because the United Farm Workers movement got jobs to provided higher salaries, improved working conditions, health benefits, minimizing segregation within the work environment, retirement plans, and even formed a credit union specifically for farm workers and immigrants. These were all factors which contributed to the increase in immigrants in the United States. (As life began to improve for immigrants within the United States, others thought the same could happen to them). Many immigrants thought of this as an opportunity to form a new and improved lifestyle. To this day the number of immigrants continue to grow, and their lives increasingly improve.
There is no denying that immigration will always be a factor in the development of the United States. Whether it is due to religious beliefs, economic problems or even war in their native country, emigrants will always come to America with hopes of starting a new life in the “Land of the Free”. Fortunately, the people who do choose to legally migrate to America are generally motivated for success and well-educated. Even the immigrants who are not well educated are motivated to succeed, work hard and take jobs in areas where labor forces are low or jobs that a native-born American may not even consider, effectively making them a contributing member of society.
Immigration has always been a major part of America. In fact, without immigration the creation of America would not have been possible. The majority of immigrants came to America for religious freedom and economic opportunities. However, for the most part before the 1870’s most immigrants were Protestants from northern and western Europe. These immigrants often migrated to the United States as families and usually lived on farms with family or friends who had already migrated beforehand. A lot of immigrants came to America with a plan or goal in mind. They often had saved up money for the long immigration overseas, were skilled in a certain trade, or had already been educated at a high level. Sadly, this would not last. Immigration became so prominent in America between 1870 and 1900 that the foreign-born population of the United States had almost doubled. A lot of German and Irish Catholics had immigrated in the 1840’s and 1850’s, and more decided to immigrate after the Civil War. A portion of Americans were biased against Catholics. Thankfully, the Irish spoke English and the German Catholics reputation was improved because of their Protestant countrymen’s good reputation. However, their children often lacked any skill or education, but they were able to blend in quite well with the American society. More and more immigrants would migrate to the United States without any skill or education and on top of that they were usually poor. These immigrants were called “new” immigrants and they came from all over the world including Italy, Greece, Poland, Hungary, and Russia. Kennedy, “Everywhere immigrants have enriched and strengthened the fabric of American life.” Thus, in today’s society, we can say that immigrants are what made America possible—economically and socially. We are in a melting pot era where the impossible was made possible. From the time John F. Kennedy was elected in 1960, making a promise to change the national origins system to unite the nations of all countries equally. Hence, in 1965, under Lyndon Johnson’s administration, Kennedy’s promise came into light, amending the INS—favoring unification of families, not national origins. Although, the unification was made possible, the peacefulness never lasted.
Many people have come to America for a better life and to get away from all the troubles of their homeland. These immigrants, like those throughout U.S. history, are generally hard workers and make important contributions to the economy through their productive labor and purchasing power. America is considered a melting pot of many diffrent ethinic group. Immigrants should be able to enter America with little if any resistance from any border patrol.
