Hillary Clinton is the Democratic front runner and a political juggernaut that many think cannot be stopped. Despite a respectable challenge from Bernie Sanders, Clinton still seems like she will definitely be the Democratic nominee for president in 2016. But this does not mean that her campaign is without its hiccups. Recently, she came out against China in a speech that should remind Democratic voters of a key fact in this campaign: Hillary Clinton is a war hawk. Going into the Fourth of July weekend, Clinton's campaign was defending her record on progressive issues in light of the surge that Sanders has seen in support. According to The Guardian, she used a speech to defend her record. "I take a backseat to no one when you look at my record in standing up and fighting for progressive values." She went on to talk about her …show more content…
From her first official campaign video to her recent speeches, she has tried to bill herself as a progressive Democratic candidate. This has suffered a blow due to Sanders' part in the race. As a self-identified "democratic socialist," Bernie Sanders is far to the left of Clinton, making her progressive pitch harder to make. But nothing is quite making a dent in her polished brass facade like her recent comments on China. Reuters reported on her Saturday speech during a campaign stop in New Hampshire where she accused China of cyber attacking America. Clinton said, "They're also trying to hack into everything that doesn't move in America." She went on to say that they are taking commercial secrets, stealing from defense contractors, and stealing vast quantities of government data just to gain an advantage. She also advised that America be "vigilant" when it comes to military matters because, according to Clinton, China's military is growing fast and they are threatening countries with U.S. treaties with new military
Bernie Sanders poor showing in South Carolina is just the latest momentum killer of his campaign in the last several weeks. After a good showing in the Iowa caucuses and a victory in New Hampshire, which neighbors his home state of Vermont, Sanders has done nothing to impress since then. Hillary Clinton, on the other hand, has seen a rise in the polls thanks to garnering
It is obvious the Republican Party has no brains. If they elect Donald Trump to run for president, they are going to lose big time. They can blame themselves for being so stupid. The establishment runs the Republican Party. They are the ones who lose major elections. The leadership of the Republican Party shifts the blame to conservative wing of the Republican Party; however, it is the moderate wing of the Republican Party who loses elections. Does John McClain ring a bell? If the Republican Party hopes to win the presidency, they must run a conservative or face another trouncing in the next election. It is that simple. Therefore, the Republicans had better wake up fast if they want to
She then immediately follows up with a way to fix it and demand respect. Shes trying to connect with the audience and shows that she has been in the same place, that she can relate. You can see that she has done her research, she uses plenty of statistics to give you a visual of what she is talking about as well as quoting people from organizations and giving them the appropriate credit. She mentions in 2005 at yale, her alma mater, 15 students sat in the admissions office until they were removed by police. These individuals were demanding changes to the financial aid policy. What those student did actually changed the policy and made it easier for families to afford college without heavy loans. This showed others that activists can make a difference, something she presses on in this
...n our country. She’s saying that the advancement of women is getting stuck between a rock and a hard place. This was such a strong point in her speech because it shed light into the logical thinking, and made a historical connection to slavery. By making this connection, she was able to help many see that women were convicted slaves to the current state of the union.
...being one of the most powerful women in politics and represented Denver in 1997. People looked up to her as she represented women’s positions in politics, child care programs, and fought to decrease the spending limits that were set for defense installations (Abbott, Leonard, Noel, pp. 480, 2013).

task of speaking to secure her own freedom when she was placed on trial for obstructing the draft in 1917. The country was awash in patriotism, and she was prosecuted as an enemy of the state. When preparing her speech, she realized that a seated jury would be a microcosm of the country's national spirit. Jurors may have had children or loved ones committed or lost to the Great War. Her position, though heartfelt and eloquently expressed, with an attempt to express her own patriotism, was subversive and threatening to the population.
She uses strong words to evolve her speech. “We must respect the choices that each woman makes for herself”,” Every women deserves”. When she uses these words(respect and deserves) the message is clear. Clinton is fighting for women rights, she takes this topic in a serious way. It is a commitment she has and wants everyone to listen.

Caucus and is a champion of expanding our nations’ hate crime laws. Following the vicious hate crimes committed against her constituents and others over the 4th of July weekend in 1999, her bill condemning acts of hate was passed by the full House.
... she gave in San Francisco during July of 1871. She said, “I declare to you that woman must not depend upon the protection of man, but must be taught to protect herself, and there I take my stand”. Her “stand” shows how little fear she has facing a nation full of men who like women to be subservient to them, not above or equal to them. She wants to take that “stand” to show women that times are about to change, that women will be able to rise to the occasion and say, vote, and do how they please.
Some people believe her values are “a result of having lived through the depression” (Harris 673). She has seen the worst and hopes to make things better for her people. As a child, Clinton was “earning merit badges in girl scouts and starring in the girls softball league” (Harris 674). She has always believed women were smart and strong. Earning badges and playing sports might not seem like much, but it taught a young Clinton that women can do anything they set their mind to. Clinton went off to college and met her husband Bill Clinton there. As the couple got older, Bill decided he wanted to run for president. Hillary “went to Indiana to coordinate the campaign” (Harris 678) for Bill. From the start to the end of Bill’s presidency, Hillary was “extremely active in government affairs” (Hurley 204). She “[emphasized] the need for a global feminist agenda” (Hurley 204-205). Even though Bill was the president, Hillary applied herself as if she were the president. She encouraged equality for genders. Her speech “Women’s Rights Are Human Rights” was given right in the middle of Bill’s presidency. She used her economic power to create awareness of the gender inequality in the
Many Americans are beginning to wonder who will run as the Democratic candidate for the next president of the United States. Since the 2008 election, one particular name has been the topic of conversation around most media outlets and households across the county. With over one million supporters who believe in her abilities to lead, Hillary Clinton possesses the qualities that meet the leadership criteria that would help her to become the leader of the free world. I choose to research Hillary Clinton because I admire the drive and passion she puts into her work. She is a unique global leader whose activism has promoted social change around the world.
As both "conservatism" and "liberalism" have had various meanings sooner or later and transversely countries, the word liberal conservatism has been used in relatively different sanity. In political science, the word is used to pass on to ideologies that merge the support of capitalism, for instance value for contracts, protection of private property and free market require reference to validate with the principle in natural discrimination, the significance of religion, and the worth of traditional integrity need reference to validate in the course of a construction of inadequate, legitimate, representative government (Abdou & Zaazou 2013). It contrasts with traditional liberalism and particularly aristocratic conservatism, rejecting the belief of correspondence as a little in discordance with human nature, instead emphasizing the thought of natural inequality (Crozier. 2012).As the conservative thought in democratic countries hold typical liberal institutions such as the rule of law, private property, market economy, and constitutional representative government, the liberal factor of liberal conservatism
Since all candidates need assistance in raising vast amount of money in order to conduct an efficient and long term campaign, they need to illicit financial campaign donations from outside individuals and corporations to enhance their chances. The first instance of this occurring was in 1944 when one candidate (Pres. Franklin D. Roosevelt) who was running for reelection was able to fund his campaign through the creation of a PAC of the Congress of Industrial Organizations. From that point on PACs became a pivotal part of the United States political campaign process up until 1971. At that point, the Federal Election Campaign Act of 1971 came into effect which put strict limitations on the amount of money donated to a candidate by an individual,
