Recommended: Public school v private school debate

Picture a ordinary normal school day. You wake up and get dressed. Now imagine wearing the same clothes every day for the rest of your school years and not being able to have a say. Some people all around the world are dealing with the problem of school uniforms. When you finally get to school you see everyone else wearing the same outfit from yesterday.That is what every private and some public schools are doing. Uniforms are also a very big commitment. They don't allow students in the school to express themselves as free, they are boring, and to some students it is an opportunity to rebel against.

Normally when a student gets home from school they begin homework or relax, but not anymore. If you were to go to a private school or a school that would require uniforms, you would have to wash your uniforms so you could get ready for the next day of school. In addition this would take away time from homework and other activities. Plus for some students, this is a big commitment because some kids don't even do homework, which is another responsibility. On top of that , someone, either the school or the parents, has to pay the cost and the money that goes into the uniforms. That is another big factor that keeps some parents from putting their kids in a school with uniforms. “With millions of children preparing to return to school, a study from charity Family Action, which supports disadvantaged families, says many poorer parents will have paid out 40% of their monthly income in August on "back-to-school costs" alone. It calculates that the bill for equipping a child for the first day of secondary school now averages $191.96 when clothing and equipment are included.

In conclusion, uniforms should be banned or not allowed at any school because they are a big waste of money for parents and even schools that support school uniforms. The money that would be saved could be put to better use by hiring more guidance counselors for bully problems. Furthermore, eliminating school uniforms will help creativity in the school. It will help students express themselves and make more friends. Finally, it will save parents and schools a lot of money, which will make make everyone happy.
