Introduction

In this simple SPRE report, I will discuss serious problem of online gaming addiction. First of all I will talk about Abdullah Gül University and dormitory accommodations; then I’ll discuss problems, which is sourced from online games, finally I will refer some responses and evaluations about this problem.

The Situation

Kayseri is very important city in middle Anatolia. Also Abdullah Gül University (AGU) is new university that is constructed on old factory in Kayseri. AGU had accepted 120 students in this year. About 110 of these students stay at AGU’s dormitory, which is placed in AGU’s campus for free, thanks to their scholarship. All of students who are staying at that dorm have MacBook or iPad, furthermore each section of dorm has Wireless Router, which is connected to Internet, therefore they can access to Internet with their devices whenever they want.

The Problem
AGU is placed in out of city therefore there isn’t any cafes, cinemas or something like that. Students who are staying at AGU’s dorm don’t have any chance to socializing because of that environmental factor. Whereupon they starting to use their computers for spend times when they bored. They are using their computers especially for playing online games such as “DiRT”, “World of Warcraft”, the “League Of Legends”, or “Forge of Empires”. They start to sleep too late because of these games, even some of students don’t sleep for days. As a result, they would sleepy in the lessons therefore it causes focusing problems on students who are become addicted to these games. Also they start to thinking too much about that games thus they lost their concern to lessons. Besides that they don’t do their homework and it cause failure in the lessons.

Finally if we evaluate the last response, which is about the banning games part-time, also it would helps to solve problem. In this way, students can manage their time and they choose their suitable time for playing and for doing homework however students could use their mobile data, which is provided by their mobile network operators.

Conclusion

In conclusion, for these reasons, I strongly recommend to using third and fourth responses at same time to solving online gaming addiction in AGU.
