Have you ever wondered how sneakers were created?The sneaker was invented more than 3,000 years ago.Sneakers became popular due to people needing them,sneakerheads collecting and selling them.,and athletes started having their own brands.Anyway, the sneaker is a very popular item today and there are a lot of reasons why they are so popular. To start off,the sneaker was created a long time ago when people were in need of something to protect their feet.The people found a way to protect their feet and it later became the sneaker.As stated in paragraph 1 of text 1,”That’s how the Maya,Olmecs,and Aztecs of central and south America made their own version of rubber soled shoes 3,000 years ago.”Even 3,000 years ago people were in need of sneakers.
One lightweight shoe fundamentally changed how the world looked at staying fit and ignited the multibillion dollar fitness industry. This shoe, known as the Nike Waffle Racer, was developed by Bill Bowerman and marketed by Phil Knight in 1972. It had innovative features like the first rubber outsole and moisture wicking fabric and started America's obsession with exercising.
Since its creation, Nike has proven itself as a popular brand and it has created niches by selling products such as footwear, apparels and various types of sports equipment. This paper will attempt to trace the product development of Nike shoes from its origins in conception and design to the manufacturing and production process located in contract factories in developing countries to advertising and marketing of Nike as a cultural commodity and finally, the retailing of the footwear around the world.

When overseeing the market for the shoe industry, we must look at the influence of all shoe trades universally to comprehensively understand how the disparities in sales relate to the needs of specific regions. Worldwide the footwear industry holds great aptitude for expansion, with a strong hold on over $256 billion in market value . When geographically segmenting the market, the United Sates represents 27.9% of the market at $71.7 billion, leading the market is Europe grasping 38.4% of the market at $98.4 billion and the Asia-Pacific region holding 19.1% of the market at $49 billion; the rest of the world makes up the remaining 14.6% of the market at $37.5 billion. Between 2008 and 2012, the average growth rate domestically has been 4.1%; in Europe and Asia-Pacific markets the growth rate was 1.7% and 4.8% respectively (see Exhibit 1).

Those that are proponents of barefoot running claim that the body has evolved over many thousands of years to run not using shoes. Because of this, humans run most efficiently and with the proper technique when barefoot. When running barefoot, the strike from the foot usually lands at the forefront and after that works its way to the heel when using muscles to alleviate the force. When using modern shoes the strike of each and every step concentrates to the heel which puts plenty of stress onto the two muscles and bones.

There is so much unfound talent lost in our high school athletes because they can’t pay to play. Many high school athletes missed the opportunity to play in a sport while in high school, due to various reasons, but one of the reasons is financial hardship. I strongly believe shoe companies should give high school athletes free shoes and equipment for those less fortunate to do so for themselves. Certain requirements must be met when a high school applies for sponsorship with an athletic apparel company to receive free equipment and shoes. Companies giving free shoes and equipment to high school athletes can be beneficial to the participating parties.
