Sunne: Hello, my name is Sunne. Today, my group, which consists of
Ravi, Gramh, Whitney and myself, will portray how physics plays an
essential role in one specific aspect of tennis. This aspect is the
tennis racquet itself, which can only be mastered when the physics of
it is completely understood. In this video, we will show you an actual
tennis match, a couple of candid interviews, and much more about the
physics behind tennis.

Basketball also involves factors such as projectile motion in making a basket, gravity and its effects on passing and dribbling, and Newton’s First and Third Law on passing and a number of others.
In a one hour match of tennis, a male can burn as many as 600 calories and a female can burn up to 420 (Groppel); tennis also raises optimism and lowers risk of depression and anxiety (Ogoen). Tennis improves cardiovascular health and mental health as well as encourages social behavior. Tennis includes many different grips and techniques that enable the ball to have different types of spin. Tennis is also great for children and the community. Tennis is a sport that improves the community through being more physically, mentally, and socially active.
Beautiful, this is the word everyone uses to describe the sport of croquet. The rich and powerful history of this sport is one reason it is beautiful yet very exciting. The American Croquet Association was created in 1987 and is still raging with high spirits like a crazy train. Even though the sport of croquet is one of the most physical and mental sports of them all, there is obviously physics involved within the sport. This is all involved when the ball is contacted by the ball and of course when the ball is rolling. James Naismith, born 11/6/1861, in Almonte, Ontario, Canada invented the greatest game of all time. Basketball was invented December 1891 at a YMCA gymnasium in Springfield, Massachusetts. The game was invented to be an indoor game for students to play during the cold winter months since there were no previous indoor game that could involve a whole class. Basketball started out with only 13 rules that were made by Naismith in 1891 and the rules have continued to grow and change up to present day.
