The PS3: The Drawbacks And Negative Effects Of Video Games

The PS3 is my favorite gaming system that I can play all day long if I could especially in my spare time. Although it’s the “holy grail” others might challenge its practicality and use in the world.

The PlayStation 3 (PS3) was produced by Sony Computer Entertainment. It was the successor of two earlier models PlayStation and PlayStation 2 in which all three was comprised of the series of in-home gaming systems called “PlayStation”. It is part of the seventh generation of video game consoles which includes Microsoft’s Xbox 360 and Nintendo’s Wii. But the PS3 was the first console to use Blu-Ray Disc which was in high demand because of the quality of the pictures in the movies. This made it a popular item because it eliminates the Blu-Ray disc

Excessive amount of gameplay can cause signs of addiction and can result in isolation. Teenagers and young adults can use video games as the source of an escape from reality, forcing them, to push back their social life or erase it altogether, inherit anti-social tendencies, and lose the ability to cope with things they can’t control. Playing for hours straight can cause seizures and involuntary movements therefore you should take several breaks in between game play. Some games that are intended for adult are accidently bought or played by teenagers which in many cases contain violent and sexual scenes. This can cause acts of violence in the real world such as school shootings, mistreatment of women, and gang violence. I know when I first got a PS3 I wasn’t allowed to Grand Theft Auto because it was rated for M (mature- 17+ years old and contained sexual content and violence) but war games was rated the same without the sexual content and I was allowed to play

Many of them were caused by the limited supply of units when it was released. People were fighting over them inside the stores, there were lines waiting outside of stores like Wal-Mart and BestBuy, people were getting shot and stabbed after purchasing them. I know when I went with my family to get my first one we went as soon as they released and we got the last one in the store and I couldn’t even get any games at the moment because people were acting crazy and we had to put the PS3 in a microwave box given by one of the employees just to make it safely out the store. But everything died down after they produced more and everybody was able to purchase
