“He reminded me of Will Rogers- maybe it was the grin” (10). This is the way Ponyboy, the narrator from The Outsiders describes his friend, Two-Bit. Two-Bit is just as funny as he is laid-back and tough. Each member of the gang had their own role in Ponyboy’s perspective, Pony believes Two-Bit was the funny one, though there is much more to Two-Bit than being the comedian. Two-Bit is just as funny as he is laid-back/lazy and tough. The gang needs Two-Bit for his attitude.
In the first place, Two-Bit is funny and is the gangs comedian. This trait can be seen in Two-Bit’s actions. “life is a joke to Two-Bit” (10). This quote shows that life is just one big laugh to Two-Bit. This quote expresses Two-Bit’s comedian like attitude as well because

all he does is kid around and that’s his version of life. The way that life is shown as a joke to Two-Bit is how much he doesn’t care, because even something as serious as stealing, is a joke to Two-Bit. Two-Bit’s is funny and always has to get a chuckle out of someone. Hinton also characterizes Two-Bit as funny through what she has him say and think. “You couldn’t shut up that guy; he always had to get his two-bits worth in” (10). This shows Two-Bit is funny because the quote means he always had to get his jokes in one way or another. This is how the quote shows that Two-Bit is the gangs comedian (not to mention how he gets his name). Of equal importance, Two-Bit is laid-back, lazy, and doesn’t care much about too many things besides the gang.
Two-Bit’s actions shows how laidback and lazy he is. “Talked the nurse into it ” (114). This quote shows Two-Bit is careless because in the time of this event Dally bullied the nurse with Two-Bit’s switch, who willingly gave Dally the weapon to do just what Dally did. This shows that Two-Bit doesn’t care whether Dally hurts the nurse or not, though as long as Dally gets to the Rumble Two-BIt is fun. Two-Bit is really lazy in a lot of the things he does as shows in the novel of S. E. Hinton. “Two-Bit was just to lazy to argue with anyone” (89).This quote shows that Two-Bit is really lazy in most things he does and doesn’t care about too many things either (apart from making his usual jokes, that he may put some effort in).
Lastly, Two-Bit is tough and will protect his friends. Two-Bit is tough when he needs to be as shows in the rumble. “His hand was busted open” (145). This shows that Two-Bit is so tough and fierce in the Rumble that he hit someone so hard that he busted his hand open. Two-Bit is tough and doesn’t want others to turn out the way he and the rest of the gang is. “Don’t try to act tough” (146). In this scene Two-Bit is telling Ponyboy not to get tough like the rest of the gang, this indicates that Two-Bit and the rest of the gang are
tough. To end off with, Two-Bit is funny and is the gangs comedian, this can be seen in Two-Bit’s actions. Two-Bit is laid-back, lazy, and doesn’t care much about too many things except the gang. Two-Bit is tough and will protect his friends. Accordingly, Two-Bit’s attitude shows that he is just as funny as he is laid-back/lazy and tough. The gang needs Two-Bit for his attitude.

A noun also known as realism—verisimilitude. The technique is used overall in writing. Authors write historical fiction books with hints toward real life events or seem as if these could happen today; therefore, these books possess a high verisimilitude. Greed also influenced many of the decisions that characters have formulated throughout the book. For example, Jerry Cruncher chose to become a grave digger for the profit gotten from it, which caused many problems in his family. When Jerry Jr. follows his father into the night he witnesses his father committing a horrifying crime that he, “Knew very well knew what it would be; but, when he saw it, and saw his honoured parent about to wrench it open, he was so frightened, being new to the sight, that he made off again, and never stopped until he had run a mile or more” (Dickens 184). Had Jerry not been so acquisitive, he would most likely have chosen not to go into that profession. This would prevent Jerry Jr. from being scarred by his father's bad decisions and possibly decrease Jerry’s drinking due to guilt he has after grave digging. Additionally, when C.J. Stryver proposes to Lucie, his motive for it blossoms from greed. While explaining to Carton why he has decided to do this, Stryver admits, "I don't care about fortune: she is a charming creature, and I have made up my mind to please myself: on the whole, I think I can afford to please myself. She will have in me a man already pretty well off, and a
I also don't own the idea, it was requested to me by the wonderful Amanda. Thank you so much! I hope I did this idea justice.
Do you believe when people are born, they are born with a blank slate? An English philosopher named John Locke believed that people are born with a blank slate and we acquire ideas from our environment and the people that influence us. In the book “Lord of The Flies” by William Golding it shows us that everyone has evil inside of us and even children can do things that we will not expect they would do. Jack Merridew was a good example because he represented evil in the novel he turned savaged and let the evil inside of him take over his actions and these actions impacted other characters. Jack Merridew let his anger toward Ralph change him and also him wanting power and being the leader of them.
“Listen to me, you crazy bastard,” “Don't you even take a look at the bitch. In the book “Mice and Men” People in the story uses mean phrases and words to use against people that are not the same as them or that does not look like them.In the quote, it shines light on how people treat each other during the book and on how they act when they are near each other. In John Steinbeck's Novel Of Mice and Men, the author illustrates that people discriminate against one another because they want to feel better about themselves and to gain self-pride.
With his long greasy hair and baggy worn out clothes he looked likes a bad kid, but the way he talked and the way he thought it was a whole different person inside of him. The Outsiders is about two rival gangs that fight and go through so much stuff to just to call the territory their own. It is the Socs versus Greasers. They always have their back up because you can't trust anyone, but at the end of the day is all the rubbles and fighting worth it? Ponyboy one of the greasers has a big character change during the book. In the beginning of the book Ponyboy was getting jumped by the Socs and he was acting all tough and defending himself, in the middle of the book he starts to break while he is in the church, and when the kids were stuck in
He realizes that he had an identity that he can communicate and be like a greaser, but doesn’t devote to the greaser way of life. In the scene, Ponyboy has an advanced way of life that includes both the Soc and greaser style, “Socs are just guys after all...Thing are rough all over.” Ponyboy at this time, understands how a Soc and a Greaser are similar and are of the same kind, human, yet are also different. He establishes an idea that the identity of a person is important because it describes who you are. As a result, Pony learns to look between the lines of people, not just at the extremes. The evidence that supports this is also “On the Sidewalk Bleeding” as I stated before. Andy says, “I’m Andy, he screamed wordlessly, I’m Andy.” When Andy’s death was coming close, the only thing we wanted in the end, was an identity. Similar to Ponyboy who is different from the gang and has a distinct personality. He is disparate because in the gang, Pony was the only one who ever thought about the sky, clouds, and books, which proves him exclusively in the group. This proves that Andy and Ponyboy are different from their gang and have a personality different from the group, and they both actually want to be different and be known not as a Royal or a Greaser, but as Andy and
According to Lionel Messi, “You have to fight to reach your dream. You have to sacrifice and work hard for it” (brainyquote.com). What Lionel Messi is saying in this quote is that dreams will not just be handed to that person, you need to work for them and sacrifice time and effort to reach you dream. Another idea of this quote is that there are many obstacles that are in life to prevent you from reaching your dream. People have to fight those obstacles to reach for you dream. However, in John Steinbeck’s book Of Mice and Men, the great american dream has been crushed. Thus, dreams can come true, but as demonstrated in John Steinbeck's’ novelette Of Mice and Men, Curley’s wife, Crook’s, and Lennie’s dream were crushed.
Betrayal is one of the worst things you could do to someone and a even worse thing to do to one of your closest friends. You break there trust and leave them hurt and questioning what they did wrong. In khaled hosseini’s novel, the kite runner two unlikely friends share a indescribable bond and go through many traumatic moments where they are both questioning there friendship. Amir wondering if the best thing to do is run from his problems and Hassan left questioning their friendship.

Your remedies and or so called potions have helped my
In The Outsiders, the characters are all unique. Characters change at multiple points as they grow and learn more about each other. Some characters are hard and tough, like Dally. While others are soft and scared, like Johnny. In the story, an important lesson that was learned is: that people are so individually special that you cannot contain them all under one label.
