The Originals is an American supernatural TV show created to serve as a spin-off of The Vampire Diaries. The Originals, which has a significant online fan base and better ratings than the main show, is currently airing its third season on The CW. Here are seven fun facts about the vampire series! Number Seven: Josh Was Meant to Die Show writer Julie Plec intended to kill off Josh (who was going to be a mere guest star) by the end of the first season. The rest of the writers didn’t allow her to do that. Number Six: ‘The Originals’ and ‘True Blood’ Connections Nathan Parsons, who plays a werewolf in The Originals, left the show to play a vampire in the supernatural drama series True Blood. He appeared in HBO’s show for most of the seventh (and last) season, only to return to The Originals as a werewolf afterwards. …show more content…
Chicago is one of the main locations of The Vampire Diaries, but the writers ultimately decided to change it up a little bit and move to a different city. Number Four: The Fans Made the Show When The Vampire Diaries first aired in 2009, none of the show producers had a spin-off in mind. The idea was developed due to the fans’ reactions to the show and the characters, as actor Joseph Morgan explained: “there were fan made trailers for The Originals before it was ever a reality for us. I watched and RT’d — I encouraged it. I was interested from the beginning.” Number Three: Phoebe Tokin Is a Mythological Queen During her short career, Australian actress Phoebe Tonkin has played a vampire hybrid, a witch, werewolf and a mermaid. She says she’d rather play folkloric characters over regular ones. Number Two: Charles Michael Devis' Reckless

Kimberly Williams plays Virginia Lewis, a woman who lives near Central Park with her father. Later in the film, it is revealed that she blames herself for her mother leaving, which is one of the primary themes that I mentioned before. While at first she cares only about returning to her own world, Virginia attempts to help Wendell, the prince, save his kingdom. She develops feelings for Wolf. John Larroquette, the star from Night Court, plays Anthony Lewis, a janitor and single father. It is revealed later in the film that he mostly wants to protect his daughter -- from a strange danger nonetheless. Scott Cohen plays Wolf who is released from the Snow White Memorial Prison by the Evil Queen. He travels to New York City in search of Prince Wendell and meets Virginia, whom he falls head over heels with. He teams up with Virginia and her father, but he is unsure which side he belongs on. Dianne Wiest plays Christine White, the mom from Edward Scissorhands, usually called the Evil Queen. The lead antagonist and Prince Wendell's stepmother is sentenced to life in prison for murdering both of Wendell's parents and almost killing Prince Wendell. She is later in the film revealed to be Virginia's mother. Dianne Wiest is the only actress associated with fantasy films, but she does not belong to the genre exclusively. Most of actors and actresses belong to the comedy

This is not a reference to cattle but rather a reference to high school students; this quote was said by a teacher on the show Glee, indicating that students enforce the status quo. Ironically, this show does the opposite. The episode “Pilot” from the show Glee by Ryan Murphy is unique for television shows because it reverses the stereotypical views of society, and this essay will analyze it by summarizing the show, applying the Rhetorical Method and the Gender & Sexuality Method, discussing an outside source to further explain the creators motives regarding the show, and evaluating the text as a whole.
Catherine’s depiction is of a wild, untamed creature yet at the same time a beautiful, sweet and childlike girl.
In the book Dracula the vampires would be killed by a stake to the heart, and then the removal of the head (411-12). In The Vampire Diaries however there was many ways to kill them. For example you could use a stake to kill them, but it would have to be a White Oak ash dagger or stake. Also instead of the decapitation you could also burn then to ash. However the easiest thing for the vampires to die from was a werewolf bite. To the vampires the werewolf bite was like a poison to them. Next in The Vampire Diaries they had some vampires called the originals. These vampires are the oldest, and they were the first to ever walk the earth. So if one of the originals were killed then everyone that they turned would also die along with them. This is because there blood has the DNA of the original. Finally we do not truly know how Dracula was created he was the very first vampire. Then over the many years he was alive he made new vampires by feeding off people. In The Vampire Diaries however we do know how they were created. A witch created the vampires in The Vampire Diaries. She later regretted the creation she made, and wanted to undo what she had already

It displays how humans are viewed from a vampire’s eyes and how vampires view each other. This series was such a phenomenon because it is from the vampire’s point of view and shows all of the good and bad things about being a vampire. It also exhibits how a vampire feels about living for eternity.

“Saturday is a day for torturing people,” Klaus Mikaelson, who is certainly a unique character, once stated. Klaus is a vampire in The Originals, who has certainly changed the face of supernatural media. When one thinks of power, witches and vampires, such as Klaus Mikaelson, are both thought of. Why? Magic and blood are both linked to power. These two topics have greatly influenced the world of mythology for as long as superstition has been around. The modern world now is surrounded by new supernatural aspects, as seen in shows such as Charmed and The Originals. Charmed and The Originals are related in the sense that they have supernatural characters, an emphasis on family values, and they show the endeavor between good and evil.
