The Opal1 The startI couldn’t look away, not because I wanted to, but because it was impossible. I was staring at a big egg sitting on the mossy ground by a big oak tree. I tried to pick it up but it was freezing cold. I left it there and went home to grab a blanket. When I returned, I wrapped the blanket around the icy egg and gently picked it up, it felt like is was going to crack. I ran all the way home and snuck it up to my bathroom and put the egg in the tub. The egg is shaking and is slightly cracking! “Hey Anna, please come here it important!” I yelled. “Okay be there in a sec, where are you?” she asked. “I’m in the bathroom.” I called as the egg fell over. My older sister Anna walked in and gasp. “What is that!?” she asked with slight panic. “ …show more content…

Do me a favor and don’t tell mom and dad.” I said relieved. “I thought so, that's okay.” She assured. 2 That nightI was laying in my bed supposed to be asleep, but I just couldn’t.This creature was amazing and it wasn’t even out of its shell! I decided to get up and go check on it. The ice was melting... I don’t think it’s supposed to. I need to wake my sister but I fear she will be mad at me if I do. We never know until we try it. Here goes. “My heavy breathing would get me killed if I was ever in a situation were I had to be Silent or get killed. When I woke up my sister I was shocked by what she told me. “ After you went to sleep I went outside in the forest. You’ll never guess what I found out by the pond.” She said trying not to wake anyone else. “What did you find?” I said

She went into the lake for a swim and suddenly, a tail appeared where her feet had been. She was terrified, so she made sure that no one was looking and dragged herself onto the dry sand of the shore. As soon as she dried off, her feet reappeared, replacing the tail. She didn’t know what was happening to her, so she ran to the library to do some research. She looked for hours on end and suddenly found a book on mythological creatures. Before she could open it, a “gust” of wind from an open window blew the book open and the first picture she saw was of a Selkie. She recognized the tail immediately, for it was the same tail that she had not long before. She knew she must keep this a secret, for she thought that her parents would not love her anymore. What she did not know, was that they already knew about her
It was already dusk and quite frigid by the time he found a spot a few miles down the river. Here he could set himself up in the thicket. He used moss and leaves to try and keep himself moderately warm as he lay down to go to sleep. Isi was awakened by a loud, paralyzing noise. Feeling sleepy, he didn't make much of it at first, but when he opened his eyes he saw
In a nearby national park, a wonderful young family had their picnic. The small family had a baby named Willow. She was two years old. They ate near a beautiful, glittering cave. The family heard a howl as they stared into the depths of the cave. Suddenly, red eyes peered back with a low, haunting growl. Willow’s family bolted through the pine forest. Willow slipped out of her mother’s arms. Her mother continued running, but once she looked back, Willow was too far away to save.
It was exactly 4 months, 2 weeks, and 5 days before I had seen my creature again. This time he well, almost hopeful. His face plastered with peace, was worse the closer he got. “Victor, I know you have wished never to see me again, but I would like for you to make Hazel and I children” he stated in a less creaky and more mellow. This must have been because he had gotten used to speach, I thought to myself. “ Who is this Hazel, I shall never create another monster like the pair I’ve already. With hearing this the monster’s face turned grave and he walked off, almost stomping like a toddler. Only when he turned back towards me did I see the grin he plastered on the pale, scar covered face of his. Scared of his intentions I followed him through the dark dense forest for miles. It had seemed like hours before he had come upon a small house on a hill. I hid at the edge of the forest, waiting to the what the horrid creature would do next. I watched for a quarter
When the lonely puppy got to his new home, he was scared. He wondered, “Where am I? Where is my mom? Are my brothers and sisters here? ”. Aden's house was huge. There were so many things to sniff, and lots of items to chew on. The lonely puppy started to cry. Aden picked him up and brought him to his mom. “Mom, why is he crying?” he asked. “He’s sad that he’s away from his family. Maybe you can cheer him up by giving him a name,” she suggested. “Great idea!” he
I reached for the knife, my fingers met the plastic case. “Dang it” I cursed. I must of dropped the knife when I tripped. I was thinking about going to look for it but my hopes were crushed when I heard something coming into the mouth of the cave. I dropped to the ground and started to snake my way behind a boulder. I armed the flare gun and took aim at what was to come around the corner. I heard a rock tumble and roll on the ground. I heard a something being dragged along the dirt. I glared at the figure, the little moonlight giving me some sight. I heard Anmol screaming. HELP, SOMEONE HELP” I watched in terror as a slumped figure rounded the corner, I could not see its face. It was black and deformed in a disgusting way. I saw it take Anmol to a corner, I heard Anmol scream one last time. A shrill, spine tingling scream. I heard something cracking and tearing. Like a green branch snapping over your knee. I was pretty sure that this thing, had just killed Anmol. Just before I was about to run, something was in my peripheral vision. Something that didn’t suit the colour way of the cave. I looked, at first I was surprised that there was a hat in here. I continued to look at it, gazing. Something about it was strange, like I’ve seen it before. A yellow sun hat with a sunflower brooch? Then it came to me, it was the mother brooch the one that went missing. I snapped out of thinking and decided it was my only chance to run. My feet meet the ground, I sprung out and went beyond my top capabilities of sprinting. I knew the thing was after me when I heard It screech. I turned around, aimed the gun behind me and pulled the trigger. For once the cave was lit up, I briefly saw everything. Anmol limp body, a pile of bones and the killer monster that chased me. It screeched at the flares brightness and dove into the shadows. I loaded another flare. I looked up, I was going to shoot the bastard again. I law its shadow and shot, it
The moon covered with dark clouds as the remaining portion of the night drifted away, the gentle wind had settled down while the dewy frost settled so effortlessly onto the ground. Ultimately, the sun extended from the peak of the mountains gradually making its way to the forest across the horizon and further within the thicket as the birds began to chirp songs of joy for the new day. Thereupon, the sun had made its way into the eyes of the exhausted timber wolf lying upon the cool damp ground awakening her. Furthermore, the female let out a whining yawn, thus stretching her jaws wide displaying her long pearly white teeth before arising from her temporary home, prolonged with another large stretch while extended her sharp brown claws in the soft soil. The female gazed into the distance as she effortlessly rose and began to push herself forward with her long legs. Subsequently, the timber wolf knew that without food; that she would not progress as quickly. She scurried the area using her long snout to obtain information into her olfactory senses, at last, a rabbit appeared out of the thicket. Effortlessly, the female scurried after it before snapping the creature into her powerful jaws executing a meal that she longed prior to the morning. She began plucking the fur off of the dead creature, coating herself with blood as she ate her only meal in several days. Thus, this creature would not go to waste as the female finished her meal quickly. As a result of her satistisfaction from the rabbit; she hurried off through the remaining portion of the forest moving quickly and
She submerged herself under her blankets in hopes that the morning would prove she had only had a bad dream. Morning would come, along with no cat. Many more normal mornings would come until nine days later. Angela awoke this particular morning to with a visitor: a crimson puddle of blood beside her arm, and the words, “Where’s your mommy?” engraved in her skin. The wand gleamed in the sunlight, almost happily, she noticed. “Oh, are you chaps still up?!” said Titan surprised. “Don’ you have beds to go to?” The weary ghosts shook their heads in exasperation. Titan felt something under his pillow, keeping him awake? Just then, his hand wrapped around something small and soft and furry. He felt a shiver run down his spine. Slowly he pulled out his hand from under the pillow and there, trembling in fright was a tiny little white mouse. Titan let out an almighty scream! He leapt from the bed and raced for the door. Down and fled through dusty passages and darkened stairways, then disappeared, Screaming and shouting away he ran and hollering, into the night.
I was snuggled up in my little house built in the mud until I heard something strange. It was a growl of some sort, but it wasn’t like anything I heard before. The growl started getting louder and closer, which freaked me out a lot. I know I wasn’t supposed to leave my pen, but I got scared and started to run. I kept running until I could barley see my pen then I decided that I was enough to stop. I stood in the middle of no where trying to catch my breath until I heard growling behind a bush. Slowly a dark figure came out and began to creep up on me. I could only see parts of the figure. I noticed his red, bloody beady eye, his arched body almost like he was ready to pounce at me and his sharp, dangerous teeth. “Hello? Is anyone there?” I said. No answer. ”My friends are just up that hill and they will be here any second!” I exclaimed. “You’re friends won’t help you now.” The figure said furiously. “And why is that?” I said. “Because I’m the one they are hiding from.” He said. “A-are you scar?” I said petrified. No answer. “HELP!” I screamed. He slowly got closer to me and I was cornered. He was way faster then me. More vicious. I had no chance against him. Scar tried to attack but Birch comes out and attack’s him. Nester comes out with a lantern they all notice he was not that scary he was this small wolf that looked very weak but he just tried to have to this big voice, and that’s why he only came out at night so they couldn’t see what he really looked like. The farmer returns home, he went to check on all the animals to make sure they had food and water and to make sure they had no injuries. While the farmer was looking they all smiled at each other and realized they had nothing to be worried about anymore when Mr.
Jackie, a six-year-old, and Freddy, a four-year-old, lived with their parents in the woods of South Dakota. They had recently moved there. One day, Freddy and Jackie decided to build a snowmen before winter was over. They have never made a snowman before so they were quite excited. Freddy and Jackie’s mother had told them that if they build a snowman, the Easter Bunny eats the carrot noses when the snowmen melts and gives more eggs to find and extra candy to eat! Now they were both really excited to build snowmen. Who wouldn’t want MORE candy?! They put on their snow pants, snow boots, winter coats, mittens, hats, and scarves on and raced each other outside. They had a big yard to build big snowmen. As Jackie began to build her snowman, Freddy started to whine. He couldn’t build a snowman as well as Jackie even though it was her first time as well. So Jackie went up to Freddy and showed him how to make the bottom of the snowman. “First,” she said, “you make a ball of snow like you are making a snowball. Then, you just roll and push it through the snow till you get it as big as you wa...
A wild scream set off, slicing the air, and disturbing the gloom of the night. In the nearby distance, an owl hooted, a clarion call for the cause of its search for another prey. Now, with the peace shattered, night no longer seemed eerie but downright frightening. Every scuffle and animal call sent Amy's heart pounding. The hum and drone of wings flapping in the air, of the buzzing insects and of mammals treading the ground was magnified as soon as darkness had fallen.
Crawling, I try and find the warmth and heart beat of mama; she hasn’t returned home from her journey. My feathers are near frozen and and my stomach growls and lurches. I panic at the chill that washes over my body. The fluff and mama’s feathers are on the brink of extinction. Frost bitten and hungry, I stumble to the oval opening in the hollow. A fresh blanket of snow is layered over the great forest. Did mama get redirected in the snow? I wonder. I creep closer towards the rough unknown terrain ahead. Just as I step to the edge of the hollow, a mourning cry captures my attention. A lone wolf in the distance cries desperately out to his brothers and sisters. His howl is high pitched and strong. He is a lost teenager searching for a juvenile mate. Crashed with surprise I tilt forward, tipping even closer to the outside world. I attempt to balance on the sliver of the hollow’s cliff. As strong as my mind is compared to the actual strength of my petty body, I flap my wings as hard as I can. I’ve created a full power that has never been reached before in my entire being. I soar backwards into the rough inside of the hollow. Dazed with pure adrenaline, I lay there flat on my back. A stabbing pain slices deep into my vertebrae.
