Gentrification is the process of renovation and revival of a deteriorated area of an urban area which causes displacement of lower-income families and business. This is rising occurrence throughout cities in the country today. One aspect of gentrification is the appearance of graffiti in urban areas, mostly on subways, trains, and walls. Graffiti is illegal throughout the country due to its vandalism. Some people even believe that graffiti creates an unsafe environment. While those people believe that graffiti is detrimental to society, others can see that graffiti comes with more positive than negative aspects. Society makes a blind judgement on graffiti before they even know what the motivation and inspiration behind graffiti and its writers
